Earlier sources: Energy

Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

753 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Development and Preliminary Evaluation of an Electric Kick-Scooter Platform with BLDC Drive Control, Battery Voltage–Current Logging, and Rider-Mass-Based Theoretical Range Estimation ↗

Electric kick scooters are becoming popular for short-distance applications on campuses, in industrial facilities and in gated communities, but their electrical demand and integrated low-cost operational functions are not fully addressed. A 350 W brushless direct-current hub motor, a 36 V, 4.4 Ah lithium-ion battery pack and a Hall-sensor-based controller with 120° six-step trapezoidal commutation were developed. A battery voltage–current data logger, a preliminary rider-mass-based theoretical range-estimation approach and a mobile application prototype were also developed. The gate states and…

An inference-based tabular approximate dynamic programming for online energy management of home energy management system with energy storage ↗

With the development of smart home technologies, home energy management systems (HEMS) with energy storage are expected to participate in online energy management (OEM) to reduce costs under solar and load forecast uncertainties. This paper proposes an inference-based tabular approximate dynamic programming (ITADP) algorithm for OEM of HEMS. The conventional tabular approximate dynamic programming (TADP) algorithm directly utilizes learned value estimates for decision-making without considering their estimation accuracy, which may lead to degraded decision quality under time-varying stochastic…

Nickel‐Free Perovskite Solar Cells Enabled by Self‐Assembled Monolayers: A Pathway to Efficient and Recyclable Devices ↗

ABSTRACT High efficiency inverted perovskite solar cells often rely on nickel‐containing hole‐selective interfaces such as NiOx. However, the use of nickel presents sustainability challenges, as the material is inherently toxic and cross‐contamination during end‐of‐life processing can compromise material recovery and recyclability. Here, we develop a nickel‐free hole‐selective interface material based on phenyl‐substituted phosphonic‐acid carbazole self‐assembled monolayers (Ph‐nPACz). Candidate molecules were identified through rational structure‐property screening of the substituents of the…

Gravity‐Differential Modulated Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Continuous and Stable Energy Harvesting From Disordered Vibrations ↗

ABSTRACT Low‐frequency, random, and intermittent vibrational energy is an important energy source for self‐powered sensing systems in engineering environments. However, the high dependence of triboelectric nanogenerators on periodic excitation limits their continuous energy output. Here, a gravity‐differential modulated triboelectric nanogenerator (GDM‐TENG) is proposed to transform intermittent vibrations into a continuously enhanced energy conversion process. Through the synergistic effect of mechanical rectification, inertial energy storage, gravity‐driven propulsion, and differential motio…

Thermal management of hybrid CPV, CPV-STEG, and CPV-TEG systems using flat plate heat pipes: energy, exergy, and environmental analysis ↗

The combination of concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) with thermoelectric generator (TEG) and solar TEG (STEG) enabled an effective strategy for maximizing solar energy utilization. However, since these hybrid designs reached extremely high cell temperatures, mitigating losses became critically important. To prevent this situation and ensure thermal management, flat plate heat pipe (FPHP) emerged as a viable alternative. This study examined the influences of working fluid (water, ethanol, acetone, and R141b), wick porosity (0.3 to 0.7), and solar concentration ratio (C = 5 to 10) on six different…

Voltage and frequency profile improvement in a storage-less SEIG-PV-based isolated microgrid ↗

This article focuses on voltage and frequency profile stabilization in a self-excited induction generator-based hybrid system without using any battery energy storage unit. Eliminating the use of storage units significantly reduces the system cost and maintenance. Although this may reduce reliability, this work proposes an electric spring-based control strategy that employs a nine-switch converter and a reactive power management scheme that can provide reliability comparable to systems with energy storage units. The proposed system's performance has been evaluated during the day and night. Dur…

Range-Wide Nuclear Phylogeography of the Aesculapian Snake (Zamenis longissimus) and the Evolutionary Significance of a Northern Relict River-Valley Population System ↗

Background/Objectives: Relict populations can preserve genetic legacies that illuminate species history and inform conservation. Isolated northern populations of the Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus) are considered remnants of a broader Holocene distribution, offering an opportunity to explore historical population connections and their conservation significance. We assessed diversity in Czech populations and provide the first range-wide phylogeographic perspective based on the nuclear marker SPTBN1. Methods: We analyzed mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and SPTBN1 in Czech populations, includin…

Triaryl Imidazoles as a Hole-Transporting Interfacial Modifying Layer for Inverted Perovskite Solar Cells ↗

Abstract The integration of hole-transporting organic interfacial modifying layers (OIMLs) into perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has attracted significant interest due to their ability to improve performance and stability. However, the development of cost-effective and straightforward methods for synthesizing OIMLs remains underexplored. In this work, we present the design and synthesis of two novel bromoaryl-substituted, imidazole-derived OIMLs: 2,4,5-tris(4-bromophenyl)-1H-imidazole (TPIM-Br) and 4,5-bis(4-bromophenyl)–2-(5-bromothiophen-2-yl)-1H-imidazole (DPIM-TBr). We investigated the therma…

    High-energy field-of-view completion in dual-source dual-energy CT using measurement-conditioned frequency-decoupled learning ↗

This study proposes a measurement-conditioned framework for high-energy field-of-view (FOV) completion in dual-source dual-energy computed tomography (DECT). The model uses a full-FOV low-energy image, a measured central high-energy seed, and its support mask, while hard data consistency preserves the measured seed. A frequency-decoupled objective combines image-domain reconstruction, high-frequency adversarial supervision, and wavelet-based low-frequency attenuation constraints. Because true high-energy references are unavailable outside the physical high-energy FOV, a controlled seed–halo se…

Development of New Al-Ca-Cu-Mn-Zr Alloys for Laser Powder Bed Fusion ↗

The limited thermal stability of conventional aluminium alloys at elevated temperatures restricts their application in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). In this study, a novel Al6Ca3Cu1.8Mn0.4Zr (wt.%) alloy was developed for improved thermal stability via stable intermetallic phases. LPBF processing of gas-atomised powder identified a reference processing window at 350 W and a hatch distance of 0.08 mm (~97–122 J·mm−3), enabling fabrication of crack-free samples with relative densities above 99.0%. The as-built microstructure consists of a highly refined cellular structure with a quasi-continuo…

How to assess evidence about Energy

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
