THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗760 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Tokenizing battery degradation: a physics-informed and uncertainty-aware framework for state-of-health estimation ↗
Accurate and trustworthy estimation of State of Health (SOH) is essential for the safe and efficient operation of modern battery management systems. While data-driven methods have achieved high accuracy, they often lack physical grounding and fail to provide reliable confidence metrics for their predictions, posing risks in safety-critical applications. In this work, we introduce TBD-SOH, an SOH estimation framework that combines physics-informed feature construction with uncertainty-aware regression. Specifically, each charging cycle is represented as a fused cycle-level token constructed fro…

The central coupler of ClpXP controls intersubunit communication and couples intrasubunit chemical energy with force generation ↗
Abstract ClpX is a clockwise hexameric helical arrangement that hydrolyzes ATP to unfold proteins and translocate them into the proteolytic chamber. We investigate the central coupler, a three α-helix module conserved among AAA+ ATPases, which is proposed to enable intersubunit communication and mechanochemical coupling. Although fundamental in AAA+ ATPases, the molecular mechanism underlying these processes remains elusive in ClpX. By combining single-molecule optical tweezers, biochemical assays and single-particle cryo-EM we demonstrate that the central coupler, of the second-highest subuni…

Energy-efficient deep learning-based vibration monitoring on parallel ultra-low-power microcontrollers ↗
Structural health monitoring (SHM) through vibration analysis is essential for ensuring safety, reliability, and minimized maintenance costs in sensor-connected environments. Realizing this at the extreme edge, directly on sensor nodes, requires advanced data analytics, ultra-energy-efficient hardware, and high-fidelity datasets. This paper addresses these challenges by developing an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based deep learning framework for vibration-based structural health monitoring tailored to resource-constrained devices. We present a benchmarking dataset for vibration SHM, encompassi…

Side‐Chain Terminal Engineering Enables 18% Efficient Non‐Fused Ring Electron Acceptor Organic Solar Cells via Crystallization Control ↗
ABSTRACT Non‐fused ring electron acceptors (NFREAs) provide a low‐cost alternative to fused‐ring electron acceptors for organic solar cells (OSCs). Nevertheless, how terminal substituents on alkyl side chains modulate the crystallization behavior of NFREAs remains largely underexplored. Herein, two NFREAs, namely TTF‐F (fluorine‐terminated side chains) and TTO‐F (methoxy‐terminated side chains), were constructed with identical intramolecular conformational locks and terminal IC acceptor units. Although the two molecules possess nearly identical electronic structures, in situ UV–vis absorption…

Does Electricity Marketization Reform Promote Green Electricity Generation? A Quasi-Natural Experiment of China’s Electricity Spot Market Pilot ↗
Persistent supply–demand mismatches pose major obstacles to deploying green electricity. As a critical marketization reform instrument, the electricity spot market (ESM) is expected to optimize power resource allocation. This paper examines whether ESM pilots contribute to the growth of green electricity generation, and further tests their moderating role in the relationships between urbanization, industrial structure, and green electricity generation. To this end, we treat the ESM pilot as a quasi-natural experiment and employ a difference-in-differences (DID) model to empirically assess the…

Uncertainty-aware digital twin-driven fault-tolerant control for autonomous underwater vehicles using temporal fusion transformer-based fault diagnosis ↗
Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) operate in challenging marine environments. The actuator faults, propulsion degradation and environmental disturbances can significantly compromise mission safety and tracking performance. Existing studies have primarily focused on either fault diagnosis or fault-tolerant control as separate tasks. A limited attention has been given to integrating fault diagnosis, predictive digital twins and uncertainty-aware control within a unified framework. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a novel uncertainty-aware digital twin-driven fault-tolerant cont…

From conventional campus grid to optimized HRES microgrid: a grid-constrained techno-economic and environmental assessment of renewable energy integration at Shivaji University, India ↗
Abstract Higher-education campuses are well suited to staged decarbonization because they combine concentrated electrical demand, substantial rooftop area, diverse load flexibility, and long-term institutional ownership of energy assets. This study develops a Campus Microgrid Renewable Integration and Energy-Saving Assessment Framework (CMR-ESAF) for planning the transition of Shivaji University, India, from grid-dependent operation to an optimized hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) microgrid. Unlike a greenfield sizing study, the framework explicitly separates three transition states: S0,…

Stepped phase change material cavities for enhanced thermal management of photovoltaic panels ↗
The stepped phase change material (PCM) cavity was investigated as a geometry-based passive thermal-management strategy for concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) modules. A two dimensional transient CPV-PCM conjugate heat transfer model was developed using the enthalpy-porosity method and the Boussinesq approximation. Four cavity orientations, obtained by combining the step-facing direction with upwardly expanding or upwardly narrowing cavity profiles, and three step widths of 4, 6, and 8 mm were compared with a flat cavity under an identical PCM cross-sectional area. Grid and time-step independence…

How the European economic area electricity trading market failed into Gresham's Law dynamics and how to redesign it ↗
The current European Economic Area electricity trading was established to lower retail prices and secure the supply of power to its customers. However, the results are the opposite. Prices have increased and the supply of power has become less stable after the integration of variable renewable energy sources, such as solar photovoltaics and wind power. The failure to account for the fact that power from intermittent energy sources differs fundamentally in quality from the power generated by dispatchable energy sources has transformed the trading system into one governed by Gresham's Law. Also,…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
