Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗732 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Multi-Time-Scale Power and Energy Balance Optimization Method for Power Systems Considering Hydrogen Energy Storage Failures Under Dynamic Carbon Quota Allocation ↗
High renewable energy penetration significantly increases source-side uncertainty and makes power and energy balancing more difficult under carbon emission constraints. To improve the multi-time-scale power and energy balance of highly uncertain power systems, this paper proposes a low-carbon coordinated optimization method considering wind–photovoltaic output uncertainty, hydrogen energy storage availability uncertainty, and carbon quota constraints. Wind and photovoltaic uncertainty is described by joint scenarios, while the available capacities of electrolyzers and hydrogen fuel cells are c…

Community Energy Management Systems for Demand-Side Flexibility and Voltage Support ↗
This paper presents a community energy management system (CEMS) for coordinating flexible residential devices, including electric vehicles (EVs), heat pumps, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and batteries. The framework focuses on demand-side flexibility and voltage support for the local distribution system operator. Device-specific control strategies adjust active power in response to local voltage conditions while considering operating requirements and constraints. Heating requirements are represented by prescribed thermal-demand profiles for space heating and domestic hot water, together with the…

Policy–Industry–Import Security Coordination in Japan’s Hydrogen Energy System Under Geopolitical Risk ↗
Japan’s hydrogen strategy faces three interrelated challenges in policy support, industrial deployment, and import security. This study builds a three-system framework covering policy, industry, and import security, and evaluates their coupling coordination in Japan from 2017 to 2025 using an entropy-weighted method and a coupling coordination degree model. A geopolitical impulse weighting factor based on Japan’s annual geopolitical risk index is further introduced to examine how external shocks reshape coordination. Results show moderate-to-high coupling but persistently low coordination. The…

SCANs: Frequency-Domain Spectrum Channel Attention for LiDAR–Camera Fusion in 3D Object Detection ↗
LiDAR–camera fusion has become a widely adopted paradigm for 3D object detection in autonomous driving by effectively leveraging the complementary geometric and semantic information provided by the two sensing modalities. However, most existing fusion methods primarily emphasize cross-modal fusion strategies while relying on conventional feature extraction networks, where global average pooling (GAP) inevitably discards high-frequency information and consequently limits the representation of fine-grained details and long-range contextual dependencies. To address this limitation, we propose Spe…

Energy‐Flow Regimes and Their Temporal Transitions in a PV‐Building System ↗
ABSTRACT Electricity generated from sunlight using installations equipped with photovoltaic (PV) panels is one of the most widely used forms of renewable energy. This paper presents a regime‐based framework for analyzing the operation of a PV‐building system by identifying characteristic energy‐flow regimes and their temporal transitions. High‐resolution measurement data are transformed into internally consistent energy‐flow components—self‐consumption, surplus export, and grid import—which jointly describe instantaneous energy allocation within the system. Unsupervised clustering applied in t…

Optimal design of pumped hydro compressed air energy storage considering air–water coupling characteristics ↗
Pumped hydro compressed air energy storage (PHCAES) is a promising option for large-scale, long-duration energy storage. Its optimal design, however, is complicated by air–water coupling in the air–water vessel (AWV) and by power-system uncertainty. This paper proposes a stochastic-distributionally robust optimal design method for PHCAES that explicitly accounts for air–water coupling characteristics. A thermodynamic AWV model is first developed to describe hydro-pneumatic equilibrium, air-volume variation, and the pressure-regulation effects of the water pump and hydraulic turbine. The model…

MFPN-ASPP: MobileNet feature pyramid with ASPP for photovoltaic panel defect segmentation ↗
Abstract Photovoltaic (PV) fault detection through thermal infrared imaging is a crucial step for efficient operation and maintenance of large-scale solar plants. Although current deep learning methodologies demonstrate potential, their efficacy is limited by inadequate feature extraction on various scales. This research presents an enhanced semantic segmentation model that combines a feature pyramid network (FPN) with a lightweight MobileNetV2 backbone and an atrous spatial pyramid pooling (ASPP) module. The model is trained, evaluated, and tested on the Photovoltaic Thermal Images dataset. T…

MSAFP-Net: An Adaptive Fusion-Driven Multi-Scale Neural Network for Peak Production Forecasting in Gas Wells ↗
This study seeks to overcome the limitations of traditional gas well production peak forecasting approaches, particularly in the context of handling multi-dimensional features, complex dynamic behaviors, and non-linear relationships. Accordingly, a deep learning-based multi-scale adaptive fusion perception network is proposed in this work. Specifically, a time-series processing framework based on multi-scale decomposition is first constructed, where wavelet transform is employed to perform multi-scale decomposition of the gas well production data, thereby effectively extracting both long-term…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
