Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗732 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Ultra-compact amyloidogenic fusion tags mediated efficient production of liraglutide precursors and molecular insights ↗
Abstract The recombinant production of therapeutic peptides such as the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue liraglutide precursor in E. coli is often constrained by peptide instability, susceptibility to intracellular proteolysis, and the use of large fusion partners that reduce the target peptide mass fraction and impose a metabolic burden on the host. Here, we developed a minimalist fusion strategy employing ultra-compact short amyloidogenic peptides (SAPs) as multifunctional fusion tags that consolidate aggregation-inducing, affinity-capture, and protease-cleavage functionalities withi…

A Decision-Making Tool for the Selection of Potential Hydrogen Storage Geological Sites: Application to Salt Caverns ↗
The rapid expansion of hydrogen production from low-carbon sources requires large-scale, flexible and reliable storage solutions to balance supply and demand and support the integration of hydrogen into future energy systems. Underground hydrogen storage, and particularly storage in salt caverns, offers significant potential due to the favorable characteristics of salt formations and the possibility of storing and recovering large quantities of hydrogen. However, identifying and comparing prospective storage sites requires the simultaneous consideration of geological suitability, uncertainty i…

Transient mechanical response of flexible sealing layers in compressed air energy storage caverns under rapid depressurization ↗
The mechanical integrity of flexible rubber sealing layers is vital for the safe operation of compressed air energy storage (CAES) caverns. However, the mechanical response of sealing layer under rapid depressurization of the cavern remains poorly understood. In this study, a fully coupled pressure–temperature–concentration model is established within a continuum mechanics framework to predict the transient mechanical response of rubber sealing materials containing inherent cavities. The model integrates a hyper-elastic constitutive model, solution-diffusion model, and thermal expansion model,…

Geospatial suitability matching and sustainable development capacity assessment of green electricity-hydrogen and industrial synergy: An integrated approach applied to Xinjiang, China ↗
Amid global energy system transformation, green electricity-green hydrogen acts as a vital driver underpinning global sustainable development, though its decarbonisation potential can be fully realised through industrial synergy. This paper first identifies seven typical synergy development modes. Secondly, it conducts geospatial suitability matching for green electricity-green hydrogen industrial synergy using GIS and assesses sustainable development capacity from a multi-stakeholder perspective. The results reveal that, from a comprehensive perspective, Hami represents the optimal region for…

Geotechnically Informed Monitoring-Data Fusion and Gradient-Boosted Regression for Instrumented Driven Piles ↗
Long-term monitoring can test whether pile-design assumptions remain appropriate as consolidation and soil-pile load transfer develop after construction. This study combines records from three Ontario transportation projects: Ramsayville, Locha Creek, and Nash Road. The database contains 53,218 weekly movement records, 152 sensor channels, 1714 axial-load profiles, and ten instrumented piles. Baseline-referenced axial-force changes were interpreted together with pore pressure, ground and pile movement, soil-test results, pile geometry, load tests, and construction history. Conventional total-s…

EnCost: uplink-cost-aware cluster-head selection with sink-trajectory look-ahead for energy-efficient mobile-sink wireless sensor networks ↗
In a mobile-sink wireless sensor network (WSN), the cluster-head (CH)-to-sink uplink periodically enters the distance-fourth-power multipath regime, where electing a CH far from the sink incurs a disproportionate energy penalty. We propose EnCost-CR , a closed-form CH-selection rule that scores each node by its residual energy minus the modelled energy of the uplink it would pay as a head, instead of the normalized distance used by existing energy- and distance-aware rules. We are explicit that this is cost accounting carried out before the decision, not prediction: it uses the sink position a…

Salt Cavern Hydrogen Storage for Renewable‐Dominated Smart Energy Systems ↗
ABSTRACT Power systems with high shares of variable renewable energy increasingly face balancing challenges that extend beyond intraday variability to multiday shortages, seasonal mismatch, resource adequacy and system resilience. Salt cavern hydrogen storage (SCHS) has emerged as a promising underground hydrogen storage option for renewable‐dominated smart energy systems. It can act as the large‐scale storage component that connects renewable hydrogen production with downstream hydrogen use and power‐to‐hydrogen‐to‐power pathways. This review examines SCHS from a power‐system integration pers…

Improving DDoS detection in cloud computing through deep learning and feature fusion with TWBO optimization ↗
Abstract A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is considered a subclass of Denial of Service (DoS) that causes the severity of the attack in the cloud environment, and the actual service of the network is disturbed by several malicious attempts. One of the general forms of attack is a DDoS attack, which leads to substantial harm and negatively impacts the efficiency of cloud services. Hence, the hybrid Sequential Convolutional Neural Network with Taylor’s Wolf Bird Optimization (SCNN-TWBO) is introduced. The cloud is simulated initially, where the attacker stops the valid users from ac…

Ultraviolet irradiation-induced improvement of silicon heterojunction solar cells via zinc-doped indium oxide with low ultraviolet transmittance ↗
The application of silicon heterojunction (HJT) solar cells in space environments faces a critical challenge from ultraviolet-induced degradation (UVID). In this work, high-quality zinc doped indium oxide (IZO) films with narrow bandgap were prepared by reactive plasma deposition (RPD). UV irradiation can cause the breakage of some Zn-O bonds, facilitating the formation of oxygen vacancies. This enhances the electrical conductivity of IZO and reduces work function, thereby improving energy level alignment with the n-type doped layer and promoting electron transport. HJT solar cells with IZO ex…

Idiosyncratic influences of hotel occupancy on energy consumption: Moderating effects of service style, hotel size, and hotel class ↗
With the growing attention to sustainability and energy management, understanding the dynamics of energy consumption in hotels has become increasingly important. We confirm that the utility expenses (e.g., electricity and water expenses) of a hotel generally follow a logarithmic increase with occupancy. A hotel’s energy consumption rises rapidly when occupancy is relatively low but increases gradually once occupancy reaches a certain high level. In addition, full-service hotels exhibit a positive moderating effect at low occupancy rate but a negative moderating effect at high occupancy rate. S…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
