Earlier sources: Energy

Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

702 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

On the notion of kinetic energy in a space–time of maximal proper acceleration ↗

Abstract It is shown in this work that in spacetimes of maximal proper acceleration, there are situations where a particle decelerates and simultaneously increases its kinetic energy. To illustrate the effect, a classical one-dimensional electric cavity-like scheme is discussed. The gain in kinetic energy by deceleration suggests an equivalence between velocity and acceleration from the energetic point of view. Such an equivalence is stated in a form resembling the Born reciprocity principle but formulated in the framework of higher order jet space–time geometry. We also show the existence in…

Experimental multi-level calibration of a silicon mini solar cell for low-cost solar irradiance measurement ↗

Abstract Accurate assessment of photovoltaic potential is essential for optimizing system integration at specific sites, requiring precise measurement of ground-level solar irradiance. However, commercially available irradiance sensors are often costly, limited in configurability for research, and require specialized calibration tools. To address these challenges, this study presents the design and development of a portable, energy-efficient, cost-effective irradiance measurement system. The device employs a small polycrystalline solar cell as the sensing element and a 10-bit microcontroller f…

REScoops acting as intermediaries, influencing the scaling of energy communities; a multi-case analysis of five pilots in Europe ↗

There is increasing scholarly attention to the scaling of energy communities (EC). Intermediaries have an important role here. Energy communities themselves, especially in the form of renewable energy cooperatives (REScoops), can take on this role very well. This paper addresses the question how REScoops, acting as intermediaries, influence the scaling of ECs. A longitudinal multi-case research design is adopted to answer this question. Five cases of EC pilots in different EU countries receiving intermediary support from REScoops were selected and researched over a three-year period. Data coll…

Nuclear–Electronic Orbital Coupled Cluster Theory with the Nuclear Hartree Product Representation for Multiple Quantum Nuclei and Application to Geometric Isotope Effects ↗

Abstract Nuclear–electronic orbital (NEO) methods treat specified nuclei, typically protons, quantum mechanically on the same level as electrons within quantum chemical calculations. This approach allows the computationally efficient inclusion of nuclear quantum effects such as nuclear delocalization, anharmonic zero-point energy, and tunneling into energy calculations, geometry optimizations, and dynamics. NEO coupled cluster (NEO-CC) methods recover correlation to an extent that enables prediction of accurate ground-state properties for moderately sized systems. Herein, NEO-CCSD(T), which in…

Numerical error analysis of EMC3-EIRENE simulations in the HSX stellarator ↗

Plasma edge simulations with codes like EMC3-EIRENE are widely used to study fusion magnetic confinement devices. However, numerical errors can significantly impact the simulation solution and are often insufficiently characterized. These errors consist of the statistical error, bias, and time integration error, resulting from the finite sampling and tracking of Monte Carlo particles, and the discretization error, resulting from a finite grid resolution. This work presents the first comprehensive numerical error analysis of EMC3-EIRENE simulations in stellarator geometries, focusing on edge pl…

Energy-constrained two-way capacity bounds for noisy Gaussian channels ↗

A gap between achievable rates and converse bounds persists for energy-constrained bosonic communication in the presence of excess noise. We derive a unified adaptive weak-converse bound for thermal attenuation, noisy amplification, and additive Gaussian noise under an unconditional mean transmitted-photon-number constraint. The bound applies to arbitrary adaptive protocols with quantum memories and constrains the two-way quantum, entanglement-distribution, private, and secret-key capacities. It vanishes throughout the entanglement-breaking region and approaches the corresponding PLOB bound at…

Modelling Regime Shifts in Continuous Intraday Electricity Markets with State-dependent Hawkes Processes ↗

The growing importance of intraday trading in Europe, driven by the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, has led to higher volatility and periods of market stress. Understanding how order flow behaves under varying liquidity conditions requires models that adapt to the state of the market. This paper proposes a multivariate state-dependent Hawkes process to model the flow of orders across different liquidity regimes in the intraday continuous electricity market. The observed market states are identified using a proposed Liquidity Stress Index (LSI), which quantifies stress using…

Energy-Aware Path Following: Comparative Analysis of Reinforcement Learning and NMPC for Electric Vehicles ↗

Path-following control strategies typically follow the bi-objective optimization dilemma: minimizing deviations from a reference path while maintaining smooth speed profiles. The latter objective is especially relevant for Electric Vehicles (EVs), since their limited driving range can be extended by recovering energy through regenerative braking, a feature that has not yet been sufficiently studied in the literature. In this work, we perform a comparative analysis of four controllers under one common Frenet frame-based kinematic vehicle model, utilizing a validated energy model (VT-CPEM) with…

    Synergistic Mechano‐Fluidic Self‐Fusion of Poly(Vinyl Alcohol)‐Modified Liquid‐Metal Particles for Post‐Treatment‐Free Soft Electronics ↗

ABSTRACT Liquid metals (LMs) are promising candidates for soft and stretchable conductors; however, their high surface tension and poor wettability pose significant challenges for high‐resolution printing. To address these limitations, LMs are commonly processed into liquid metal particles (LMPs), which improve printability. Nevertheless, the insulating oxide shell surrounding each particle persists, typically necessitating additional post‐treatment steps to achieve electrical conductivity. Here, we report synergistic mechano‐fluidic self‐fusion of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)‐modified liquid‐met…

How to assess evidence about Energy

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
