Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗718 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: rising. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Unified analytical thermal modeling of laser powder bed fusion: Integration of semi-infinite heat conduction and boundary effects ↗
This article proposes a novel implementation of a classic analytical thermal model for a moving heat source in bounded regions, building on the exact solution for the temperature distribution arising from a stationary heat source in a wedge with zero-flux boundaries. With the implementation of this boundary-aware basis, the model, for the first time, provides a single closed-form solution that accounts for both conduction in a semi-infinite domain and boundary effects simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate calculations for each. Furthermore, the primary significance of the proposed…

Spatial-temporal feature extraction and residual correction for robust battery state-of-charge estimation under real-world operating conditions ↗
Accurate state-of-charge (SOC) estimation remains critical for electric vehicles but is severely challenged by highly nonlinear battery dynamics, environmental noise, and cumulative biases in onboard battery management systems (BMS). This study proposes a robust SOC estimation framework driven by physics-constrained offline reconstruction and heterogeneous feature decoupling. To overcome the absence of absolute ground truth in real-world data, a tailored label reconstruction mechanism is developed. By extracting physical anchors from rest voltages and full-charge boundaries, onboard raw data a…

Pristine Poly(3‐hexylthiophene) as an On‐Demand Conductive Binder and Redox Mediator for Carbon‐Additive‐Free, High‐Volumetric‐Energy‐Density, LiFePO 4 Cathodes without Calendaring ↗
ABSTRACT Poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) is introduced as a multifunctional conductive binder and redox mediator to fundamentally improve the performance and volumetric energy density of carbon‐free LiFePO 4 (LFP) cathodes. Unlike conventional Super P (SP):PVDF systems, P3HT can be electrochemically doped within the LFP operating potential range, forming an internal percolating conductive network that precedes and facilitates the LFP redox reaction. Strong π–π interactions and P3HT–Fe coordination enable P3HT to uniformly coat LFP particles, yielding intimate interfacial contact, enhanced adhesi…

D18/Y7 Pseudo-bilayer organic solar cells: effect of donor concentration tuning ↗
Layer-by-layer (LBL) solution processing in organic solar cells (OSCs) is an effective strategy for controlling active-layer composition and charge-transport pathways compared with bulk-heterojunction devices. Sequential deposition of donor and acceptor layers in the LBL process has led to a remarkable improvement in power conversion efficiency ( PCE ). Here, we report an optimized bilayer OSC fabricated via LBL deposition strategy, based on the polymer donor D18 and the non-fullerene acceptor Y7, achieving a PCE of 15.7%. The systematically varied donor concentration influences active-layer t…

Orthotropic plate buckling method for the design of stainless steel structures manufactured by wire-arc directed energy deposition ↗
Wire-arc directed energy deposition (DED-Arc) offers significant advantages for manufacturing stainless steel plates, but the inherent material anisotropy of DED-Arc stainless steel challenges the isotropic assumptions underlying current design standards (e.g., AISC 360, EN 1993-1-4, GB 50017). This paper proposes an Orthotropic Plate Buckling Method (OPBM) for predicting the local buckling resistance of DED-Arc stainless steel plate elements in compression. Analytical solutions for the elastic critical buckling stress of orthotropic plates were first derived for simply-supported (SS) and simp…

Time-synchronization-based constant-frequency grid-forming technology for power electronics-dominated systems ↗
With rising penetration of distributed energy resources, power systems are becoming increasingly power electronics-dominated. Constant-frequency control ensures a fixed system frequency and mitigates frequency instability risks, but existing schemes cannot intuitively and flexibly set the droop reference operating point, with a relatively complex overall control structure, and the system lacks the capability of accurate active power flow regulation. To solve these issues, this paper proposes a time-synchronization-based constant-frequency grid-forming control framework for low-voltage DER-inte…

An energy management framework for a PV-BESS supported grid-integrated LCC-S wireless EV charging system ↗
This paper presents an intelligent energy management strategy (EMS) for a PV–BESS–Grid integrated dual electric vehicle (EV) charging system. To ensure optimal power sharing between PV, BESS, grid and EV loads, the proposed framework integrates an ANFIS-PI based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller, grid current regulation, and a rule-based EMS. To support efficient constant-current and constant-voltage charging, a dual-sided LCC-S compensated wireless power transfer topology is used. Under different solar irradiance, load demand, and battery SoC conditions, the EMS stabilizes DC-lin…

Universal performance improvements in CuSCN-based devices enabled by CuBr2 doping: Transistors, solar cells, and photodetectors ↗
Copper(I) thiocyanate (CuSCN) has become one of the standard hole-transport layers (HTLs) for an ever-expanding range of device applications. However, solution-processed CuSCN films suffer from hole-trapping SCN − vacancies (V SCN ) and limited p-type conductivity. Herein, we show that doping CuSCN with copper(II) bromide (CuBr 2 ) can deliver dual functions of defect-healing and p-doping, greatly improving the hole-transport properties. Applied as a p-channel in thin-film transistors, the field-effect hole mobility is increased by 8-fold up to 0.08 cm 2 V −1 s −1 while crucially keeping a low…

Physical simulation of roadway surrounding rock cumulative failure characteristics under dynamic loading and energy-absorbing support solutions ↗
Roadway surrounding rock in deep coal mines is subjected to the combined effects of static loading and dynamic disturbances, which can induce progressive deformation, crack propagation, and catastrophic instability. To investigate the progressive failure characteristics and mechanisms of roadway surrounding rock under different dynamic impact energies, a physical similarity simulation experiment based on the 21170 transportation roadway of Changcun Coal Mine in the Yima mining area, China. A physical model was established using sand, gypsum, calcium carbonate, and mica powder, with a geometric…

Multi‑objective optimisation and experimental validation of a compact energy‑efficient active regeneration burner for diesel particulate filter regeneration ↗
Active regeneration burners are essential for diesel particulate filter (DPF) regeneration. However, they are often constrained by low flow utilisation, excessive gas velocity, and inadequate mixing between combustion products and exhaust gas, leading to poor thermal efficiency and degraded regeneration performance. To tackle these challenges, this study focused on achieving a compact and lightweight burner design via iterative and dimensional optimisation. A multi‑objective optimisation framework incorporating Response Surface Methodology (RSM), Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm III (NS…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
