Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗697 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Thermo-economic analysis of a wire-mesh integrated photovoltaic thermal collector ↗
This study experimentally compared a flat-plate photovoltaic-thermal air collector with and without a double-crimped galvanized iron wire mesh. Both units were tested together for eight days under identical outdoor conditions in Noida, India at an optimized airflow rate of 0.0165 kg/s. The hourly and daily means, along with standard deviations and 95% confidence intervals, were calculated; statistical significance tests were carried out; and a sensitivity analysis was performed to confirm the robustness of the mesh-integrated PVT system over the conventional PVT system. The mesh-integrated sys…

Scenario-Based Intraday Multi-Service Co-Optimization and Grid-Value Assessment of Renewable Power Plants with Co-Located Energy Storage ↗
Renewable power plants with co-located battery energy storage systems (BESSs) coordinate forecast-deviation control, renewable-surplus management, electricity-price arbitrage, and ancillary-service commitments through the shared power and energy capability of the battery. This study develops a layered framework for scenario-based intraday multi-service co-optimization and grid-value assessment. The plant-level mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model operates at 15 min resolution and represents piecewise deviation penalties, time-varying export limits, battery dynamics, a terminal state-o…

Numerical investigation of phase change material-integrated triply periodic minimal surface heat exchangers for thermal energy storage ↗
Additive manufacturing has enabled the fabrication of heat exchangers with geometrical complexity not achievable through conventional methods. Triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS), particularly gyroid, diamond, split-P, and lidinoid structures, offer high surface area and favorable fluid mixing characteristics that make them promising candidates for heat exchangers with integrated thermal energy storage. This study investigates the thermal charging behavior of TPMS-based heat exchangers that incorporate a phase change material (PCM). A transient numerical model was developed in ANSYS Fluent…

A Novel Density-Based Hybrid Multi-Hop PEGASIS Protocol with Adaptive Packet Transmission for Energy-Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks ↗
Energy imbalance and costly long-distance communication remain limitations of chain-based routing in energy-constrained wireless sensor networks. Energy imbalance is still a problem even though PEGASIS reduces transmission distance through chain-based data aggregation. Energy imbalance can be affected by repeated leader burden, expensive leader-to-sink communication, fixed packet size, and limited adaptation to changes in node-energy distribution. This study proposes Density-Based Hybrid MultiHop PEGASIS, which integrates adaptive DBSCAN clustering localized nearest-neighbor chain construction…

A MILP–GIS Siting-and-Sizing Framework for Renewable-Powered Battery Swapping Station Networks with Hourly Feasibility Screening ↗
Battery swapping stations (BSSs) can help shorten the refueling time for electric vehicles (EVs), but their widespread deployment will need decisions on station placement, battery availability, the number of chargers, photovoltaic (PV) capacity, grid import, accessibility, and emissions. This study proposes a decomposed mixed-integer linear programming and geographic information system (MILP–GIS) framework to optimize the planning of BSSs using renewable energy in a Shenzhen GIS–traffic planning case. Each year, the MILP decides on the location and size of the BSS, the PV capacity, battery pac…

Enhancing the thermal energy storage performance of multiphase PCM using triply periodic minimal surface structures ↗
Phase change materials (PCMs) are hindered by low thermal conductivity and the limitation of a single melting point in coping with complex thermal conditions, which significantly constrains the thermal regulation capability and thermal response rate of latent heat thermal energy storage systems. To overcome this bottleneck, this study exploits the triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures, which offer both high specific surface area and spatially independent compartmentalization, to systematically investigate the thermal storage performance of single-phase and multi-phase PCMs under di…

A Hybrid Deep Learning Approach for Early Detection of Wildfires Using Transformer Models and Feature Fusion Techniques ↗
Natural disasters, particularly wildfires, pose a serious threat to ecosystems, human lives, and infrastructure, making rapid and accurate fire detection essential for effective disaster management. Despite recent advances in deep learning-based wildfire detection, conventional CNN-based approaches are inherently limited in modeling long-range spatial dependencies, while relying on a single deep architecture may provide an incomplete representation of complex and multi-scale fire patterns. Furthermore, high-dimensional deep features may contain redundant information, increasing computational c…

Short-term power forecasting model for distributed wind-PV grid connection based on MIC feature screening and improved FTO optimized XGBoost ↗
Abstract Aiming at the strong randomness, fluctuation, redundant feature interference, low fitting accuracy, and easy local optimum of hyperparameter optimization in traditional distributed wind–photovoltaic grid-connected power forecasting models, a novel hybrid short-term power forecasting model is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the Maximum Information Coefficient (MIC) is adopted to quantitatively evaluate the correlation between multi-dimensional meteorological variables and power output, eliminate redundant features, and construct an optimal input feature set. Secondly, Complete Ensembl…

Segmentation-free hybrid CNN–transformer CAD framework with handcrafted feature fusion for explainable Leukaemia diagnosis ↗
Diagnosing leukaemia from microscopic blood smear images is nevertheless challenging for traditional Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) systems. Many current methods depend on segmentation and basic feature representations. This makes it hard to tell apart morphologically similar subtypes. This work presents an extended hybrid CAD framework to address these limitations by fusing handcrafted texture descriptors, deep CNN representations, Transformer-based contextual modelling and explainable AI. Multi-resolution handcrafted features using the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT), Grey-Level Co-occurren…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
