THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗659 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Multi-domain feature fusion and machine learning-based SFRA diagnosis of transformer winding faults using a novel fault deviation index ↗
Abstract Sweep Frequency Response Analysis (SFRA) is one of the commonly used techniques for evaluating transformer winding integrity. However, the interpretation of the SFRA results remains qualitative and depends on expert evaluation. In this study, a quantitative, measurement-oriented diagnostic framework based on the advanced normalized Multi-Domain Fault Deviation Index (MFDI) is proposed. Within this method, magnitude, phase, impedance, and resonance-based descriptors are integrated in a unified formulation. The proposed method combines frequency band decomposition with multi-domain feat…

Electromagnetic Non-Resonant Vibration Energy Harvesters with Linear Magnetic Gear ↗
This paper presents a non-resonant vibration energy harvester (VEH) with an external magnet array to enhance the output voltage through a linear magnetic gear (MG) effect. A magnet array with an optimal number of smaller-sized magnets is fixed above the VEH (2.5 cc and 5.5 g) and is shown to increase the relative velocity between the internal magnet array (suspended by ferrofluid bearings) and the coil array (mounted on the VEH chamber), increasing the time portion of non-zero relative velocity per cycle. The electromagnetic VEH, with a coil array of 2000 turns and 525 Ω, is measured to produc…

Comprehensive Thermophysical Profiling and Mapping of Thermal Energy Storage (TES) Materials ↗
Thermal energy storage (TES) plays a critical role in balancing energy generation and demand, serving as a cornerstone for the global renewable energy transition and industrial environmental sustainability. This review presents the development of visual and spatial multi-dimensional selection frameworks of TES materials. The novelty of the study lies in its system-agnostic, multi-faceted categorization of TES material performances independent of specific engineering configurations. The broad work reviewed just under 300 peer-reviewed sources, which were synthesized via a PRISMA-guided literatu…

Unified Multi-Application Segmentation of High-Resolution Satellite Images Through Consensus-Based Probabilistic Fusion ↗
Deep-learning-based land cover segmentation models for high-resolution aerial images often suffer from inconsistent performance on unseen data due to limited spatial and temporal dataset ranges alongside inherent labeling inconsistencies. Existing solutions, such as foundation models and unsupervised domain adaptation, offer indirect improvements but require considerable post-processing or transfer learning. To address this limitation, this study introduces a direct dataset integration method that fuses heterogeneous datasets with disparate class compositions into a single operational framewor…

Study on the Influence of Different Shared Mooring Configurations on the Performance of Wave Energy Converter Arrays ↗
To investigate the effects of different shared-mooring configurations on the performance of wave-energy converter arrays under experimental and real-sea conditions, five array layouts comprising four- or twelve-point-absorber wave-energy converters were established. Combined frequency-domain and time-domain numerical analyses were conducted using Ansys Aqwa and OrcaFlex to compare the performance of independently moored arrays and arrays with different shared-mooring configurations under various sea states. The results show that, compared with independently moored arrays and arrays using share…

Bi-objective optimization of simultaneous vibration suppression and energy harvesting in suspension systems based on mixed H2/H∞ control ↗
Simultaneous vibration suppression and energy harvesting (SVSEH) of suspension systems has attracted significant attention over the past few decades. Nevertheless, vibration suppression and energy harvesting often compete with each other due to using single-objective control methods and the tradeoff has limited the effectiveness of current systems. To reduce the tradeoff, the innovation of this paper is to propose a bi-objective control strategy in which vibration suppression and energy harvesting are optimized by two independent objective functions. Firstly, the state equation of the quarter-…

BCAM-AKT2 fusion protein promotes unfolded protein response driven oncogenic signaling in SKOV3 epithelial ovarian cancer cell line ↗
In view of the rapidly increasing evidence that gene fusion mutations are frequent drivers of cancer, a deeper understanding of the molecular and functional hallmarks of specific gene fusions in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) is essential. In this work we sought to identify the molecular signature of the BCAM-AKT2 fusion protein in ovarian cancer cell lines and to assess the biological impact of the novel fusion in these cells. Our in-vitro results show that the BCAM-AKT2 fusion protein is engaged in proliferative action within EOC cell lines. Furthermore, RNA-seq analysis shows that the effe…

Electrochemical energy transition technologies in advancing circular economy - a review ↗
Transition to a low-carbon energy future not only requires decarbonization but also integration of principles of a circular economy (CE). Electrochemical energy transition technologies (EETTs) can be seen through the lens of CE by enabling clean energy generation and storage. This review examines the electrochemical energy transition technologies with the approach of integrating energy transition systems into the principles of CE, with focus on two areas: (1) Green fuel production and (2) electrochemical energy storage. In green fuel production, we highlight the use of electrochemically genera…

Advanced exergoeconomic analysis of a Rankine type Carnot battery: Splitting avoidable and unavoidable costs ↗
Carnot batteries store electricity as heat and are a leading candidate for large scale, geographically unconstrained energy storage, yet their economic assessment has so far relied on conventional exergoeconomic methods that cannot distinguish improvable from technologically fixed costs. This study presents an advanced exergoeconomic analysis of a Rankine type heat pump and organic Rankine cycle Carnot battery with sensible hot water storage in which both the destruction costs and the investment costs of all components are decomposed, a combination that the studies compiled in Table 1 do not c…

Collectivism–Individualism Cultural Cleavage, Local Institutions and Prosocial Behaviour: Evidence From Household Electricity Theft in India ↗
ABSTRACT How does the local sociocultural structure affect prosocial behaviour? The multidisciplinary literature on evolution of prosocial behaviour postulates that the collectivistic societies vis‐à‐vis the individualistic ones witness more prosocial and civic behaviour. Not stealing electricity from public power stations is an example of prosocial behaviour or compliance with formal rules governing public goods. We examine electricity theft as a major incentive issue and a collective‐action and property‐rights problem shaped by monitoring, enforcement, institutional trust and prevailing soci…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
