Earlier sources: Nuclear
This energy thread follows nuclear through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗59 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Identification and ranking on thermal hydraulic phenomena in integrated SMR during station blackout ↗
The Phenomena Identification and Ranking Table (PIRT), as a systematic tool in nuclear safety analysis, is widely used to identify key physical phenomena in accident scenarios and assess their importance and level of knowledge. Although the traditional PIRT method has the advantage of structured analysis, its strong reliance on experts' subjective judgments affects the objectivity and repeatability of ranking process. This study mainly focuses on thermal-hydraulic (T-H) phenomena occurring in a typical small modular pressurized water reactor (SMPWR) during station blackout (SBO) accident, and…

A deep learning-based surrogate model for Severe Accidents in nuclear reactors using ASTEC ↗
Integral codes like the Accident Source Term Evaluation Code (ASTEC) are powerful tools to study the physics of Severe Accidents (SAs) in nuclear reactors. Real time SA simulators can also be helpful in training operators of nuclear plants to react correctly to malfunctions. However, SA simulators can take up to several days per simulation, making their use infeasible for real time applications. In this work we show how to speed up a SA simulator with a fast, Deep Learning based (DL), surrogate model (SM). The SM is built as a combination of a dimensionality reduction stage, via an AutoEncoder…

Hydrodynamics of turbulent coolant flow at the outlet of the fuel assembly of the RITM reactor for a small nuclear power plant ↗
The paper presents the results of an experimental study and comparative analysis of coolant hydrodynamics at the outlet of a fuel assembly (FA) with upper nozzles of three different designs. The FAs are intended for the core of the RITM reactor of a small nuclear power plant (SNPP). The aim of the work was to study the axial flow velocity at the outlet of the fuel rod bundle and behind the upper nozzles of different designs, as well as to identify regions of the fuel rod bundle from which flow could enter the sampling tube leading to a resistance thermometer (RTD). The experiments were conduct…

FPGA-Based Automatic Digital Pole–Zero Cancellation for Nuclear Pulse Spectroscopy Systems: Real-Time Decay Constant Estimation and Adaptive Tuning ↗
In modern radiation sensor systems, the analog output of charge-sensitive preamplifiers (CSA) often suffers from long exponential tails, which severely limit the performance of the sensor system at high counting rates. At high counting rates in nuclear spectroscopy, overlapping exponential pulse tails from charge-sensitive preamplifiers lead to baseline drift and degraded energy resolution. Effective pole–zero cancellation (PZC) is necessary to mitigate these effects; however, conventional PZC tuning is typically manual and repetitive. We present an FPGA-based automatic digital PZC algorithm f…

Ancient Nuclear Genome Duplication Events in Vertebrates Facilitated the Functional Diversification of Ohnologous Cytochrome c : Insights from Buergeria Frogs ↗
In vertebrates, a nuclear gene encoding mitochondrial cytochrome c (CYC) was duplicated and diverged into one with ubiquitous expression (somatic-type) and the other with testis-preferred expression (testis-type). In this study, synteny based phylogenetic analyses suggest that cyc ohnologs originated through whole genome duplication (WGD) events in the common ancestor of vertebrates and have been conserved for approximately 450-540 million years. Molecular evolutionary analyses revealed pervasive purifying selection and an approximate Phe/Tyr dichotomy at position 46 between somatic- and testi…

Ultralow-temperature spin kinetics of strongly hybridized electro-nuclear excitations in LiHoF 4 ↗
Recent cavity-magnon-polariton (CMP) spectroscopy of the quantum Ising magnet LiHoF 4 represents a remarkable experimental achievement, providing high-fidelity baseline spectra of electro-nuclear spin transitions. However, the interpretation of these results using a standard single-ion mean-field theory (MFT) predictably falls short in describing many-body dynamic correlations, leaving several pronounced anomalies unexplained: double peaks of dissipation near the quantum critical point (QCP), bell-shaped transition linewidths, and the collectivization of discrete transitions below the critical…

How to assess evidence about Nuclear
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
