Earlier sources: Nuclear
This energy thread follows nuclear through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗59 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

High-resolution cryoEM of nucleosomes in nuclear extracts of mammalian cells ↗
Frontier Structural Biology methods are transitioning from analysis of reconstituted macromolecular complexes in vitro to imaging of macromolecular assemblies within the physiological confines of the cell. Preparation of samples for in situ cryoEM analysis requires FIB milling or ultramicrotome sectioning, laborious and technically challenging procedures that are low-throughput and require a high degree of technical skills. We have devised a simple approach for cryoEM of nuclear macromolecular complexes that preserves to a high degree their physiological environment while removing the need for…

Highly contiguous draft nuclear genome assembly of Teratoramularia sp. strain RD051456 isolated from plant debris in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan ↗
ABSTRACT We report a highly contiguous draft nuclear genome assembly of Teratoramularia sp. strain RD051456, isolated from plant debris in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. PacBio HiFi sequencing and hifiasm assembly produced a 26.26-Mb nuclear genome comprising 17 contigs, providing a resource for taxonomic, phylogenetic, and comparative genomic studies of Teratoramularia .

Nuclear envelope rupture and resealing: mechanisms, consequences, and disease implications ↗
Abstract The nuclear envelope (NE) establishes an essential physical separation between the nucleoplasm and cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells. Its structural integrity ensures selective molecular exchange through nuclear pores, a fundamental feature of eukaryotic cells. For this reason, it has long been assumed that the NE remains intact. However, recent studies revealed localized rupture of the NE in diverse physiological and pathological contexts. These ruptures can be resealed by endogenous mechanisms, suggesting that rupture–resealing dynamics contribute to homeostasis and are altered in disea…

Lamin B1 Coordinates the Assembly of the Nuclear Lamina ↗
The nuclear lamina provides essential mechanical stability to protect the genome, yet how lamins target the nuclear rim and assemble into an organized meshwork remains unclear. To address this, we generated smooth muscle cells lacking all three lamin genes (“LKO cells”) and expressed individual lamins at physiological levels. All lamins localized to the nuclear rim, but with distinct requirements: lamin B1 and lamin B2 required farnesylation, whereas prelamin A did not. Lamin C and mature lamin A also localized efficiently, demonstrating that C-terminal processing is not required for A-type la…

Nuclear Fusion Knowledge Graph Guided Edge-Localized Mode Recognition on EAST ↗
Edge-localized modes (ELMs) are transient magnetohydrodynamic instabilities commonly observed in tokamak plasmas. Although deep time-series models can learn complex dynamic patterns from multi-diagnostic signals, their predictions are mainly data-driven and lack explicit utilization of ELM physics, plasma operating states, and historical discharge experience. As a result, they may confuse categories with similar temporal patterns, particularly under severe class imbalance. To address this issue, we propose KGF-ELM, a Knowledge Graph Fusion Network for ELM Recognition, and introduce a Knowledge…

Metallurgical and Mechanical Property Investigation of ETP Cu Similar Hybrid Friction Welds for Nuclear Fusion Applications ↗
The evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties in electrolytic tough-pitch (ETP) copper subjected to hybrid friction welding (HFW) was investigated. The effect of introducing a programmable brake on the flywheel’s rotation while maintaining constant friction and forging pressures was explored. The welded joints were examined through a series of investigations, including optical and scanning electron microscopy with electron backscatter diffraction, tensile and microhardness testing, followed by fractography. The optimised weld achieved the highest ultimate tensile strength (≈274 MPa…

NEWCOV: A Nuclear Data Covariances Library in Support of Liquid-Metal Fast Reactor Design ↗
Fast reactor systems benefit from less operational experience than traditional water-cooled reactors, making it essential to assess the reliability of computational tools and of input nuclear data for such systems. This assessment is conducted rigorously with uncertainty quantification as well as with Verification&Validation (V&V) studies, both of which rely on handling uncertainty in nuclear data systematically and consistently. This paper focuses on the generation of a library of nuclear data covariances and on its use in uncertainty and sensitivity analyses in the framework of fast reactors…

XIST Self-regulates its association with THOC2 and the nuclear epigenetic machinery via miR-186 in Alzheimer’s disease ↗
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) exhibits a strong female bias, yet the underlying molecular basis remains poorly understood. This study identifies the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) XIST, the key mediator of X-chromosome inactivation (XCI), as a regulator of female-specific AD pathology. Single-nucleus RNA-seq (snRNA-seq) analyses from human AD cortex and in vitro AD models reveal elevated and abnormally cytoplasmic XIST, a feature not previously studied in neurodegeneration. Reduced EZH2 and histone H3 lysine-27 trimethylation (H3K27me3) levels in AD coupled with reduced colocalization of these protei…

Design, dynamic analysis, and optimization of a hybrid nuclear-storage power system for mobile applications ↗
With the rapid advancement of heat pipe-cooled reactor (HPR) technology, the integration of mobile nuclear power with energy storage offers a promising solution for energy supply in remote and off-grid scenarios. However, existing research predominantly focuses on stationary systems, lacking comprehensive investigation into the dynamic coupling of HPRs and hybrid storage in mobile environments. To address this gap, this paper proposes a novel hybrid nuclear-storage power system (HNSPS) integrating an HPR with a lithium-ion battery and supercapacitor for mobile applications. A high-fidelity sys…

How to assess evidence about Nuclear
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
