THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Software

Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

2053 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Stateful Testing for Deep Learning Compilers ↗

Modern deep learning compilers compile models lazily and cache artifacts across invocations. Retained compiler state can make a later invocation incorrect even when it is correct in isolation. An analysis of 26 publicly reported issues in PyTorch, JAX, and TensorFlow shows that detecting such bugs requires sequences that first establish compiler state and then expose a failure. We present Rondo, a stateful testing method that represents each test case as a model paired with an invocation sequence. Rondo mutates invocation sequences and uses a Markov chain Monte Carlo sampler guided by compilat…

Show HN: Nexus – open-source local-first message routing for agents ↗

Hi HN, I built Nexus because I was tired of having multiple agents that I had to address one by one. I built an underlying mechanism where I could message all of them and have them have the capability to message each other and listen to wake events. I also got tired of having to run cron when I think that agents should have the capability to be event-driven. Nexus is basically a daemon that runs and routes messages to where they need to be, it is…

Benchmarking and Enhancing Design-Aware Code Review in the Linux Kernel ↗

Code review often requires reasoning beyond local correctness. In mature software systems, reviewers must recognize design trade-offs introduced by a proposed change, compare alternative solutions, and reason about their compatibility with project-specific constraints. We refer to this problem as design-aware code review. However, existing automated review approaches primarily focus on defects and correctness, while the design knowledge accumulated in historical review discussions remains difficult to reuse. To address these challenges, we present DesignLore, a knowledge-augmented approach tha…

How to assess evidence about Software

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
