THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Software

Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

2063 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

“It Works, but I Don’t Know Why”: Uncritical Use, Verification Behavior and Perceived Understanding in Non-CS Students’ Generative AI-Assisted Programming Projects ↗

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) enables students with little programming experience to produce working software, raising the concern that learners may build artifacts they cannot explain. This convergent mixed-methods study examined how uncritical GenAI use and verification behavior (VB) relate to novices’ self-reported understanding of their own AI-assisted projects. Participants were undergraduates from predominantly non-computing majors in two offerings of a general-education Python course; 64 provided complete survey data and 68 written reflections were thematically analyzed. Un…

Bronchoscope Tip Localization With Learned Airway Constraints and an Open Source Simulator ↗

Accurate bronchoscope localization is challenging because airway images contain limited texture and similar views across branches. We present BronchoLoc, a learning‐based framework that combines monocular video with a preoperative CT centerline graph to estimate the 3D bronchoscope tip position. Local visual tracking and global sequence context constrain predictions to the airway anatomy. The accompanying open‐source BronchoSim simulator generates synchronized images, depth, and trajectories (Traj) for training and evaluation. Averaged across Traj, localization RMSE was 5.65 mm in simulation w…

Spatial Stiffness Programming in Single‐Filament Material Extrusion Through Data‐Driven Thermal Foaming ↗

ABSTRACT Material‐extrusion printing of variable‐stiffness structures typically relies on multi‐material architectures, which often suffer from poor interfacial bonding, increased fabrication time, material waste, and complex tool‐change operations. Here, we develop a data‐driven manufacturing framework that exploits the established thermal‐foaming response of a commercial TPU to program stiffness both within and across printed layers. By locally varying extrusion temperature through pre‐programmed commands, the expansion of the physical blowing agent is modulated, enabling programmable porosi…

Reliability-aware superpoint graph learning for large-scale point cloud semantic segmentation: Evaluation on indoor, mobile, and airborne benchmarks ↗

Large-scale point cloud semantic segmentation requires efficient contextual reasoning over complex 3D scenes. Superpoint-based methods reduce computation by operating on compact region graphs, but geometrically retained adjacency does not always imply semantically reliable interaction, which may cause cross-boundary feature leakage. Building on the hierarchical Superpoint Transformer, we develop RSGT as a reliability-aware extension that explicitly models the trustworthiness of retained inter-superpoint interactions. RSGT uses bounded, head-specific edge modulation to regulate contextual propa…

Assessment of AI development level in construction cost management using AHP- cloud model: a case study of China’s Yangtze River Delta Region ↗

Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration is crucial for solving traditional inefficiencies and data fragmentation in construction cost management, driven by the demands of Industry 4.0. However, a significant gap exists in holistically evaluating AI development levels, lacking a framework and empirical analysis that systematically bridges macro-environmental factors and micro-organizational readiness. This study aims to assess the AI development level in construction cost management across China’s Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. A novel PEST-O (political, economic, social and technological-o…

How to assess evidence about Software

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
