THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2090 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Rooftop photovoltaic potential in data-scarce regions using open-source geospatial information: Scenario-based approach for a Mediterranean coastal city ↗
Rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems can support urban decarbonization, yet data scarcity limits city-scale assessments in developing regions. This study develops an open-source 2D GIS workflow for five central districts of Antalya, Turkiye, using Overture Maps building footprints. A three-stage procedure combined spatial and size filters, geometry and land-use screening, and targeted image inspection to retain the continuous urban building stock while excluding rural settlements, greenhouses, and structures smaller than 60 m 2 . Planimetric agreement was evaluated against 60 manually delineated…

COMPLAX: A Python Tool Package for Automated Microsolvation of Organic Molecules ↗
Abstract Since the solvent choice drives organic reactivity, accurate computational modeling of explicit solute–solvent interactions remains crucial but preparation-intensive. We present COMPLAX, an open-source Python tool that automates the generation and optimization of targeted microsolvated clusters around highly localized active sites. Unlike unconstrained global optimizers, COMPLAX employs a rigid-core approach to preserve delicate solute geometries. To ensure unbiased spatial sampling, it couples a deterministic Fibonacci spherical lattice with three-dimensional rotational randomization…

A method for detecting and quantifying damage in masonry architectural heritage based on deep learning of point cloud data ↗
Point-cloud data provide three-dimensional geometry for automated inspection of masonry architectural heritage, addressing limitations of image-based methods in illumination and depth measurement. This study proposes an integrated framework combining preprocessing, binary segmentation using an improved PointNet++ incorporating a Novel Set Abstraction (NSA) module, and morphology-based quantification of damaged area and maximum depth. The model was evaluated on 317 annotated patches collected from four wall segments at different locations and orientations along the Nanjing City Wall. The improv…

Radio Continuum Study of One of the Brightest Large Magellanic Cloud Supernova Remnant N 132D ↗
We present a new radio continuum study of the Large Magellanic Cloud supernova remnant N 132D using observations from the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) and MeerKAT. The radio morphology shows a clear spatial correlation with the X-ray emission in the central and left regions of the remnant, as well as in the right portion of the shell, indicating a close connection between the thermal and non-thermal plasma components. Polarisation measurements reveal predominantly radial magnetic fields, with mean fractional polarisations of 1.3 per cent, 3.0 per cent, and 4.0 per cent at 2100, 550…

MPDD: A Curated Database Bridging Membrane Protein-Drug-Disease Landscapes ↗
Abstract Membrane proteins (MPs) are vital drug targets, yet existing resources are fragmented across structural, pharmacological, and disease domains, limiting integrated exploration. To address this, we developed the Membrane Protein-Drug-Disease (MPDD) Database (https://chemyang.ccnu.edu.cn/ccb/server/MPDD/), a curated platform explicitly linking MPs, drugs, and diseases. MPDD currently includes 1523 MP targets, 589 diseases, and 18,489 drugs. It offers multi-dimensional query tools, interactive classification trees, drug property analysis, BLAST search, and co-target network visualization.…

A single-ended fault location method based on active boundary control for multi-terminal flexible DC grids ↗
In modular multilevel converter (MMC)-based multi-terminal flexible DC (MTDC) grids, fault current limiting suppresses post-fault electrical transients and weakens available fault characteristics, thereby reducing the sensitivity and reliability of conventional fault location methods. To address this issue, this paper proposes a single-ended fault location method based on active control and boundary self-validation. First, a coordinated MMC control framework integrating fault current limiting and characteristic-frequency signal injection is developed to construct controllable electrical featur…

A Scoping Review of Vibe Coding and AI-Assisted Programming in University Computing Education ↗
Background: Generative AI coding tools are increasingly used in university computing education, including emerging practices commonly described as vibe coding. However, evidence on their educational effects is scattered across studies that differ in interaction patterns, instructional designs, assessment practices, and learning contexts. Methods: We conducted a scoping review using a PRISMA-guided process and synthesized 37 studies published between 2022 and July 2026. Five research questions examined student–AI interaction patterns, learning outcomes, task-level instructional strategies, asse…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
