THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2091 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Traceable World State: A Provenance-Aware State Representation and Deterministic Replay Framework for Robotic Systems ↗
Robotic systems operating over extended tasks must maintain a world state assembled from observations arriving at different times, with varying confidence and potential revisions. Conventional representations emphasize latest estimates, hindering fact provenance, decision reproduction, or execution auditing. We present Traceable World State (TWS), a middleware-neutral semantic representation and reference runtime for provenance-aware robot world state. A TWS snapshot captures entities, relations, observations, confidence, and revision metadata. Validated update operations transform snapshots i…

HPQ-AKE: A Provably Secure Sign-Less Hybrid Authenticated Key Exchange Protocol for Bandwidth-Constrained IoT and Edge Networks ↗
Securing bandwidth-constrained Internet of Things (IoT) and edge networks during post-quantum migration creates an authentication trade-off: ML-KEM provides post-quantum key establishment, whereas post-quantum signatures increase certificate-chain size, verification cost, and handshake latency. We present HPQ-AKE, a sign-less hybrid authenticated key exchange for RSA-enabled IoT gateways and edge/cloud services that replaces transcript signatures with dual KEMs. HPQ-AKE combines ML-KEM-768 for post-quantum session secrecy and forward secrecy with RSA-OAEP for implicit mutual authentication, pr…

Decentralized Latency Models and Information Flow for TSN Shapers - A Tutorial ↗
Recent advancements in the fields of industrial automation and in-vehicle communication have also increased the requirements on their underlying networks. Traditional field bus technologies are being replaced by regular Ethernet devices with features from the IEEE Time-Sensitive Networking working group. Their standards are designed to achieve zero congestion loss and deterministic latency bounds, but the specific guarantees can differ depending on the shapers used and how the bounds are calculated. After several contributions to the standardization efforts, this work presents a number of dece…

Moving Target Defense in SDN-enabled EV Charging Network ↗
Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is emerging as a promis- ing technology for EV Charging infrastructure (EVCI) since it enables flexible, programmable control of EVCI networks, yet its security gain to EVCI remains underexplored. SDN-enabled EVCI faces an increas- ing number of cyber threats arising from the convergence of IT and OT components; in particular, low-rate Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Ear- lier works identify a trend toward low-rate attacks in OT networks that may exhaust SDN switch flow tables and which can result in disabling the entire charging sites without triggering volu…

Neural Network Verification for Deep Joint Source-Channel Coding ↗
Deep joint source-channel coding (DeepJSCC) transmits data end-to-end over wireless channels using a neural encoder-decoder, but reconstruction quality can degrade sharply under adversarial perturbations and channel disturbances; no method formally bounds this degradation for DeepJSCC. We present the first bound-propagation framework for verifying DeepJSCC's decoder, bounding worst-case reconstruction error over a given wireless channel's noise region. Current deep neural network (DNN) verifiers do not support three DeepJSCC decoder components: parametric rectified linear activations (PReLU),…

Show HN: Red Alert 2 Runtime in the Browser – With Yuri's and Multiplayer ↗
bringing the original Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge to the modern web. Uploading your own game files and jump straight into battle. Unlike Chrono Divide, we don't rewrite the game engine -- we provide a compatible layer (v86 + WebGL + win32shim). That makes us fully compatible with YR and preserves all the original features, while also delivering faster cold starts and smoother battlefield performance.

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
