THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2101 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Design-Time Conformance Checking for Pulse-Level Quantum Control ↗
A pulse-level quantum control program is written against a device whose limits are recorded, if at all, in vendor documentation and source code. A program that exceeds them can be refused at compile time. It can also be accepted and silently altered, or compile and then fail at the board. In the last two cases the experiment runs, and the data does not correspond to the program that was written. We present qconform, a checker that decides whether a pulse program is realizable on a device, given a versioned capability descriptor for that device. Every constraint in a descriptor cites the toolch…

TaoD2C-Bench: Benchmarking MLLMs for Industrial UI Code Generation Beyond Visual Fidelity ↗
A key challenge for multimodal large language models (MLLMs) is moving beyond visual recognition to constraint-aware cross-modal reasoning. This involves combining visual cues with information from other modalities to understand elements' relationships under domain-specific rules. This challenge is acutely evident in industrial design-to-code (D2C), which converts user interface (UI) designs into code and requires MLLMs to connect design images with disorganized layer metadata, infer component and layout implementation requirements, and realize them in code under target-library constraints. Ho…

Input-Blind Controls Produce Substantial Oracle Headroom for Layer Programs in Multiple-Choice Evaluation ↗
Adaptive computation aims to improve language-model inference by tailoring execution to each input. For layer programs, oracle evaluations use known answers to estimate the potential gain from this flexibility, before a practical selector is available. However, a gain from selection does not by itself explain why the chosen programs help. This study examines this distinction using 32 layer-skipping and repetition programs on two models and 4,413 multiple-choice items. The analysis compares their gains over a fixed action selected without the evaluation prompt with those of input-blind perturba…

Show HN: A Linux clone in TypeScript, hidden in an IDE for kids ↗
akicode is a coding app for kids that runs and single-steps Python and C++ entirely in your browser. No server or account needed. Underneath is a Linux clone written in TypeScript, and real Linux programs run on it unmodified, including gdb behind the Debug button. Just for fun, you can also open the Linux terminal: xeyes and xcalc open real X11 windows, and there is even a redis-server/redis-cli, just because it works.

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
