THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2055 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Voice-enhanced image caption generation with vision transformers and Google Cloud TTS ↗
Abstract Today, when it comes to the digital world, engaging image captions are crucial to such industries as travel, where the strong visuals play a crucial role in attracting the audience. Nonetheless, manual captioning is both time-consuming and usually lacks the subtlety of a scene. The paper presents an AI-based model of automatic image captioning with contextual enrichment, based on deep learning models, which have been trained using the Flickr8k dataset. We combine a pretrained Vision Transformer (ViT) that retrieves granular visual features and global contextual features of images usin…

Uncertainty-aware hybrid autoscaling with bias-corrected deep forecasting for cost-efficient capacity-shortfall control across cloud workload traces ↗
We present HybridTuned, an uncertainty-aware hybrid autoscaling framework designed to mitigate bias-induced capacity shortfalls when continuous workload forecasts are translated into discrete provisioning decisions. The primary evaluation uses the Google 2019 Cluster sample, aggregated at 5-minute intervals and partitioned chronologically into training, validation, and held-out test blocks. Point-forecasting performance is compared across LSTM, vanilla Transformer, and PatchTST models over five training seeds using Holm-adjusted Diebold–Mariano tests, while a quantile LSTM baseline is assessed…

Stochastic reliability modeling of an integrated cloud–fog–IoMT healthcare architecture with VANETs ↗
The rapid advancement of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has transformed healthcare by enabling continuous remote monitoring and timely medical intervention. Although cloud computing, fog computing, and vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have individually supported smart healthcare applications, the reliability assessment of an integrated IoMT–VANET–Fog–Cloud infrastructure remains largely unexplored. Motivated by the need for dependable healthcare services during emergencies and disaster scenarios, this study proposes an integrated cloud–fog-based smart healthcare architecture incorpora…

CT talk: Teacher talk as a resource for computational thinking in early childhood programming ↗
Although studies have shown that screen-free robotics activities can support early computational thinking (CT), little is known about how young children's engagement in CT activities relates to the teacher's CT-relevant language (“CT talk”). This study analysed classroom video recordings of robot programming activities from two Hong Kong kindergartens, using a qualitative-dominant mixed-methods design that combined inductive thematic and interaction analysis with descriptive quantitative counts to examine CT talk in teacher-child dialogues. Six types of CT talk were identified: task-progressio…

Multi-service honeypot framework for high-fidelity cyber-attack data collection and machine learning-based threat detection in cloud environments ↗
Modern computing systems are increasingly vulnerable owing to their development using distributed techniques, such as computing infrastructure, and the growing reliance on cloud computing. Intruders frequently breach vulnerable network services, authentication schemes, and applications. Traditional IDSs are largely signature-based, making them less effective in detecting new or unknown attack patterns. Consequently, there is a growing need to develop smart adaptive systems that can understand the realistic behavior of attackers and assist in the automatic threat detection. In this study, we pr…

Multi-scenario optimization of fuel distribution transportation using goal programming ↗
Inefficient distribution routes of oil could lead to supply deficits and increased costs. Several goal programming models were developed in this study to determine an optimal distribution model for fuel oil transportation using goal programming that meets target demand while optimizing capacity, time, and cost. Data were obtained through sources directly involved in operational performance. A total of four scenarios reflecting variations in demand and route use were evaluated. The optimization results showed increased fuel fulfilment by 1,033 KL; 2,533 KL; 1,378 KL; 3,973 KL for Scenario 1 to…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
