THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2056 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

The serine-rich C-terminal tail of the Listeria monocytogenes secretion chaperone PrsA2 is critical for bacterial virulence and resistance to cell-wall active antibiotics ↗
Protein intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are characterized by their lack of defined stable tertiary structure and are capable of adopting multiple conformations for functional activity. In chaperone proteins, these flexible regions are often sites of condition specific protein-protein interactions. In Listeria monocytogenes (Lm), PrsA2 is a peptidyl prolyl isomerase (PPIase) chaperone that promotes pathogenesis through the maturation of secreted proteins including the pore forming toxin, listeriolysin O (LLO). PrsA2 is composed of a PPIase domain and foldase domain that are critical for…

Experimentally informed drift-diffusion assessment of a lead-free four-terminal BaZr0.85Ti0.15S3/CZTSSe tandem solar cell ↗
A lead-free four-terminal tandem architecture is assessed by optically coupling a semi-transparent BaZr 0.85 Ti 0.15 S 3 chalcogenide-perovskite top sub-cell to a Cu 2 ZnSn(S 0.25 Se 0.75 ) 4 (CZTSSe) bottom sub-cell. The assessment includes a 33.93% idealized design target only as an upper bound because the assumed p-type, low-defect top absorber has not been demonstrated in a photovoltaic device. The device physics are evaluated with a one-dimensional drift-diffusion framework based on the coupled Poisson and electron/hole continuity equations. A finite-volume Python implementation using Sch…

Benchmarking cell segmentation in two Spatialomics platforms with open-source software ↗
The in situ tissue microenvironment is a complex mixture of different cell types, microanatomic structures, and acellular matrix material. Further, disease perturbs the morphologies of these features significantly. Spatial proteomics utilizing optical or mass spectrometer imaging simultaneously detects expression and subcellular localization of many proteins. Accurate identification of heterogeneous, irregular, and tightly interdigitating cell boundaries is a crucial step for all downstream analyses, including cell phenotyping and cell-cell interaction networks. We describe a benchmarking appr…

Tape in the Cloud: A Cost-Efficient Archive Storage System ↗
TapeOBS is an archive storage service offered by Huawei Cloud, which delivers high cost-efficiency by leveraging tape to store large volumes of archived data. Although tape boasts a low total cost of ownership, its inherent characteristics (e.g., a limited number of drives within a tape library) pose unique challenges when developing a large-scale distributed storage system. To address these challenges, we take a holistic approach in designing TapeOBS . At the high level, we introduce a fully asynchronous tape pool, which supports data scheduling and erasure coding in a batched manner, alignin…

Cloud-edge efficient image segmentation via lightweight multiscale attention learning ↗
Image segmentation in cloud-edge visual analytics needs to balance pixel-level accuracy with practical constraints such as inference latency, model size, and communication cost. Most existing segmentation models tend to rely on heavy backbone networks or complicated feature fusion designs to improve accuracy, which limits their applicability on edge devices with restricted computing resources. To alleviate this problem, this paper presents LMANet, a lightweight multiscale attention network for efficient image segmentation. In LMANet, an efficient convolution-based compact encoder is used for f…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
