THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2018 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Rust Fungi Secretomes Contain Structurally Diverse Effector Families Including Cysteine-Rich Metal-Binding Proteins ↗
Rust fungi are significant threats to global food security, causing substantial damage to crops through their ability to evolve new strains that overcome plant resistance. These obligate biotrophs infect host plants by secreting effector proteins that manipulate host physiology to promote infection and colonisation. We used AlphaFold2 to investigate structural conservation among effector proteins for the secretomes of Melampsora lini and four Puccinia species. AlphaFold2 yielded high-confidence predictions for 45.7% of the 27,090 secreted proteins, while 19% were poor quality. Comparative anal…

A Stereoscopic display method of multi-reconstructed viewpoints for radar terminal ↗
Abstract While conventional radar systems are primarily capable of detecting target presence, directly visualizing the spatial morphology and relative positional relationships of targets on a Plan Position Indicator (PPI) to replicate the real three-dimensional (3D) world remains a critical objective. Currently, research on stereoscopic display for radar terminal is limited. Drawing upon optical principles, this study proposes a multi-viewpoint PPI generation model based on 3D reconstruction. Derived from the radar echo model, this approach constructs stereoscopic PPIs utilizing differential p…

Complementary-Label Learning: A Survey of Methods, an Open-Source Toolkit, and Fair Benchmarking Results ↗
Complementary-label learning (CLL) is a weakly supervised learning paradigm designed for multiclass classification tasks. In CLL, algorithms are provided with complementary labels, which indicate the classes an instance does not belong to, rather than specifying its true class. With the growing research interest in CLL and the unique challenges it presents, particularly in handling incomplete and indirect supervision, a comprehensive and systematic overview of existing methodologies, results, and research directions has become increasingly essential. In this survey, we provide the first system…

FCoral: A Framework for Fine-grained Concurrency Evaluation Across Programming Language Runtimes ↗
Modern programming languages increasingly support lightweight concurrency abstractions (e.g., coroutines), which are managed by language-level runtimes to improve scalability and performance in highly concurrent applications. Compared with coarse-grained thread-level concurrency, the performance of fine-grained coroutine-level concurrency depends not only on system resources but is even more sensitive to the efficiency of the concurrent runtimes. Performance evaluation across concurrent runtimes is important for understanding performance bottlenecks and improving the efficiency of both concurr…

Single-scene thin-cloud correction for dynamic macroalgal blooms via water-referenced radiative transfer ↗
Thin clouds substantially attenuate spectral signals in satellite imagery, leading to systematic underestimation of macroalgal bloom coverage. Existing thin-cloud correction methods have critical limitations for dynamically drifting blooms: they typically require paired cloudy-clear observations or stable surface conditions, which are rarely available, or inadequately account for cloud-induced attenuation, particularly in the near-infrared band that is essential for algal quantification. This study proposes a single-scene thin-cloud correction framework for dynamic macroalgal blooms that remov…

Securing the open-source ecosystem: AI-enhanced and explainable supply chain security for reliable software development ↗
Abstract Modern software supply chains face increasing risks from vulnerable and anomalous dependencies, necessitating automated and interpretable detection methods integrated within Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) workflows. Open-source software (OSS) ecosystems are increasingly targeted by sophisticated attacks—including AI model poisoning, dependency confusion, contributor hijacking, and transitive dependency anomalies—that often evade traditional CVE-centric tools such as Snyk and Dependabot. These reactive solutions are primarily designed for known vulnerabilities…

Petri Nets-based Methods on Automatically Detecting for Concurrency Bugs in Rust Programs ↗
Rust's memory safety guarantees, notably ownership and lifetime systems, have driven its widespread adoption. Concurrency bugs still occur in Rust programs, and existing detection approaches exhibit significant limitations: static analyzers suffer from context insensitivity and high false positives, while dynamic methods incur prohibitive runtime costs due to exponential path exploration. This paper presents a Petri net-based method for detecting Rust concurrency bugs from Rust's compiler-derived Mid-level Intermediate Representation (MIR), restricted to the concurrency-relevant operations nee…

Show HN: Television – an open source GUI for your agent harness ↗
Hi HN, I'm co-creator of Television ( https://television.run/ ). Me and the team at Telepath ( https://telepath.computer/ ) have been cooking on this and testing it with a few hundred alpha users. We just opened up the repo to the public today. Television is a clean, beautiful place for all your artifacts. Think of it as a GUI for your agent harness, a visual space for creating and working with artifacts in collaboration with your agent. It works…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
