THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Ask HN: How to measure the energy impact of a website in Linux ↗
For the context, I'm on Fedora Kinoite (Atomic KDE) 44. The laptop is an AMD Frame.work 13. Today I noticed that Firefox is showing a speaker icon all the time. Closing my pinned tans one by one showed that it's because of ChatGPT. Now I had this question: does it really impact my battery life? I can't rely only on the CPU energy. Maybe keeping an Audio pathway causes other hardware components to be unnecessarily active. One way I could think of…

Show HN: Hedwig, a free and open-source alternative to Instantly and Smartlead ↗
I created an open source alternative to tools like Instantly or Smartlead, which charge huge amounts of money per lead for basic cold email campaign management. The emails are sent from your inbox, and you get open rates and analytics for your campaign. It also comes with an MCP server, so you can manage the whole campaign from Claude or Codex. It also has multi email option, so you can spread the senders through various emails as you like, and m…

Resonances control when multiterminal Josephson currents reduce to two-terminal couplings ↗
Multiterminal Josephson junctions, in which one weak link couples three or more superconductors, are studied as hosts of topological Andreev bands, multi-pair supercurrents and tunable circuit elements. Their currents are modeled both as pairwise networks of two-terminal couplings and through genuinely multiterminal processes such as quartets. We ask how accurate the pairwise description is and what controls its error. In a microscopic scattering model of planar junctions, we compare exact currents with the best pairwise approximation, which allows arbitrary nonsinusoidal couplings. In ensembl…
How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
