THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Software

Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

2044 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

MoSE: Mode-Switching Expander for Mixed LLM Training and Inference ↗

AI clusters increasingly run large language model (LLM) inference and training on the same fabric. Prefill-decode (P-D) disaggregation creates key-value (KV) cache transfers between prefill and decode groups, whereas training collectives and all-to-all traffic benefit from near-uniform global connectivity. A static sparse topology can therefore be poorly matched to one of the two traffic patterns. We present Mode-Switching Expander (MoSE), a reconfigurable expander that treats topology design as a fixed-degree edge-allocation problem. MoSE reallocates the same sparse edge budget toward direct…

Trustworthy Runtime Error Healing in Real-World Repositories: A Benchmark and Guardrail ↗

Runtime error healing lets a crashed program continue by generating code that repairs its live runtime state. Recent work shows that LLMs can generate such healing code, but it is evaluated only on small competition programs, and executing LLM-generated code inside a live process raises safety concerns that remain unaddressed. In this paper, we take LLM-based runtime healing toward practical use in real-world repositories. We first build HealBench, a benchmark of 265 runtime errors from 18 real-world repositories, each paired with a reference execution on the patched version. HealBench also pr…

From Verification Failures to Reusable Guidance for Coding Agents ↗

Coding agents need to establish that a program satisfies a specification and that the specification captures the requested behavior. We study how expert diagnosis of verification failures can become reusable guidance for this work. Our approach combines executable language definitions in the K framework with a kit of procedures for constructing specifications, repairing proofs, and auditing their adequacy. A human-guided development campaign on HumanEval, a benchmark of 164 Python programming tasks, achieves a 164/164 success rate with the semantics and the kit, measured by final AI audit Pass…

How to assess evidence about Software

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
