THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Software
Software turns computational ideas into tools and services. This region follows open source projects, developer tools, programming languages, databases, operating systems, and web and cloud platforms.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗2186 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

C-Terminal Regions of Insecticidal Cry Toxins Form Amyloid Fibrils Affecting Metabolism of Insect Cells ↗
Crystal (Cry) toxins produced by Bacillus thuringiensis are highly specific insecticidal proteins that are widely used as biological insecticides and function through proteolytic activation in insect midguts, which generates a three-domain toxic core responsible for membrane disruption as well as cleaved N- and C-terminal domains. While the structure and function of this core have been extensively characterized, the fate of the cleaved C-terminal region remains poorly understood. Amyloids are protein fibrils with a characteristic cross-β structure that participate in a wide range of functions…

Scenario based stochastic programming for aggregate electricity demand scheduling using Moroccan smart meter data ↗
Abstract Electricity retailers and load aggregators must schedule energy before actual demand is known. This study develops a data-to-decision framework for an experimental aggregate demand portfolio constructed from high-resolution smart-meter measurements for Laayoune, Boujdour, Foum El Oued, and Marrakech, Morocco. Seventeen city-zone series are converted to a common unit, aggregated into four city-level series, and aligned on common 30-minute timestamps. Persistence, seasonal-naive, and Random Forest forecasts are compared using chronological training and validation periods, with a held-ou…

Learning curves and programming paradigm acquisition in developer education ↗
Abstract Contemporary software systems place greater demands on conceptual flexibility and paradigm diversity, necessitating a better understanding of how developers acquire proficiency across different programming paradigms. Therefore, this exploratory study provides empirical evidence of the learning experiences of developers across the five major paradigms including: procedural/imperative, object-oriented, functional, concurrent/parallel, and reactive/event-driven, and by using survey data collected from aspiring and practicing developers, this study analyzes key areas that influence the le…

From CityGML to I3S: An Empirical Evaluation of Open-Source Conversion Workflows for Interoperable 3D City Models ↗
No documented, reproducible open-source workflow exists for converting CityGML data from a 3D City Database (3DCityDB) instance into functional Indexed 3D Scene Layer (I3S) Scene Layer Packages (SLPK). This study addresses that gap through systematic empirical evaluation of two conversion architectures tested across four datasets spanning single buildings to a district block of 2,571 features, Levels of Detail from LOD2 to LOD4, and multiple schema extensions. The database-driven pathway via 3D Tiles 1.1 fails due to specification incompatibility between toolchain components. The file-based pa…

Risk-Aware Hierarchical Meta-Reinforcement Learning with Quantile Regression LSTM Framework for Adaptive Task Prioritization and Congestion Avoidance Offloading in Fog–Cloud Systems ↗
Fog–cloud systems allow distributed and latency-sensitive IoT applications to share edge, fog, and cloud resources for efficient computation, storing and delivering services. Nonetheless, the current methods of task scheduling and resource allocation tend to be based on deterministic prediction, heuristic schedules, or response optimization, restricting risk sensitivity and responsiveness to dynamic workloads. To address these issues, we propose a graph network with a reinforcement learning framework to avoid congestion and schedule tasks with a low makespan in fog–IoT systems. The work starts…

A cloud-edge collaborative dual-modal fault detection block for battery packs: Enabling intelligent safety management in electric vehicle battery systems ↗
Intelligent diagnosis of battery pack faults using real-world data has become a key research focus in the era of vehicle-cloud integration. While cloud-based deep learning diagnostics have shown strong capability, edge-based fault diagnosis is increasingly preferred for its real-time responsiveness, lower communication bandwidth demand, and enhanced data privacy. This study aims to address the challenge of simultaneously achieving model light-weighting and high diagnostic accuracy for onboard deployment. To this end, we propose a novel battery-pack fault detection block with dual modeling mode…

Determining Logistics Route Capacity Using Maximal Solutions of Two-Sided Max-Min Linear System with Python Implementation ↗
Max-min algebra, equipped with maximum and minimum operations, provides a natural framework for modeling systems with bottleneck constraints, such as logistics and transportation networks. An algorithm for solving two-sided linear systems of the form A x = B x in max-min algebra has been proposed, for which the maximal solution can be constructed explicitly for the 1 n case under three conditionsunconstrained, with a given upper bound, and with a given lower boundand generalized to the m n case, terminating after at most m iterations and producing a unique maximal solution with complexity O(m2…

How to assess evidence about Software
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
