THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Cloud

This software thread follows cloud through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

134 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Integrated Feasibility Assessment of Edge, Cloud, and Hybrid AI-as-a-Service Architectures for Face Recognition ↗

Deploying face recognition as a service requires evidence beyond recognition accuracy because architecture affects latency, scalability, cost, and biometric-data exposure. This study evaluates Edge, Cloud, and Hybrid architectures through an integrated technical, techno-economic, and regulatory-readiness framework. EdgeCloudSim experiments modeled 100–500 connected devices using an infrastructure-level workload abstraction structurally mapped to published face-recognition pipelines, while explicitly distinguishing this abstraction from direct neural-inference benchmarking. The technical screen…

A Q-Learning-Based hybrid optimization algorithm for storage space allocation and yard Crane cooperative scheduling in double U-shaped Automated container terminals ↗

With the rapid growth of global trade, container throughput at ports has continued to increase, posing an urgent challenge to terminal operational efficiency. To this end, this study investigates the storage space allocation and cooperative scheduling of yard cranes (YCs) in Double U-shaped Automated Container Terminals (DU-ACTs). By considering the layout characteristics of the DU‑ACT and the operational process of YCs, we propose a classification stacking strategy. Based on this, we formulate a mixed-integer programming model to minimize the makespan of YCs. To solve this model, a Q-learning…

Securing IoT–cloud sensing systems for viable renewable energy supply chains ↗

Secure Internet of Things–cloud integration underpins information visibility, coordination, and continuity in renewable-energy supply chains, yet implementation constraints can undermine these capabilities, particularly in emerging economies. This study identifies constraints affecting secure IoT–cloud implementation in Mexico's renewable-energy supply chains, determines which warrant priority managerial attention, and develops targeted interventions intended to support supply chain viability. A systematic literature review of 104 studies, followed by two rounds of fuzzy Delphi refinement, yie…

A method for detecting and quantifying damage in masonry architectural heritage based on deep learning of point cloud data ↗

Point-cloud data provide three-dimensional geometry for automated inspection of masonry architectural heritage, addressing limitations of image-based methods in illumination and depth measurement. This study proposes an integrated framework combining preprocessing, binary segmentation using an improved PointNet++ incorporating a Novel Set Abstraction (NSA) module, and morphology-based quantification of damaged area and maximum depth. The model was evaluated on 317 annotated patches collected from four wall segments at different locations and orientations along the Nanjing City Wall. The improv…

Radio Continuum Study of One of the Brightest Large Magellanic Cloud Supernova Remnant N 132D ↗

We present a new radio continuum study of the Large Magellanic Cloud supernova remnant N 132D using observations from the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) and MeerKAT. The radio morphology shows a clear spatial correlation with the X-ray emission in the central and left regions of the remnant, as well as in the right portion of the shell, indicating a close connection between the thermal and non-thermal plasma components. Polarisation measurements reveal predominantly radial magnetic fields, with mean fractional polarisations of 1.3 per cent, 3.0 per cent, and 4.0 per cent at 2100, 550…

How to assess evidence about Cloud

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
