SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗668 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Federated ADMM-IRLS: A privacy-preserving framework for high-dimensional multicenter genomic analysis with binary outcomes ↗
Many clinically relevant multicenter genomic studies involve binary outcomes and high-dimensional data distributed across multiple institutions. However, standard sparse logistic regression (LR) methods typically require centralized access to patient-level data, which is often infeasible under privacy constraints. To address this limitation, a privacy-preserving federated ADMM-IRLS framework is proposed for sparse LR. In the proposed approach, local iteratively reweighted least squares updates are combined with ADMM-based global consensus and soft-thresholding, so that distributed coefficient…

From Speed and Sensitivity to Robust Reliability: Addressing the Detection Bias of Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) in Food Authentication ↗
Food adulteration poses severe threats to the integrity and safety of global food supply chains. Innovations in analytical techniques, especially the rapid development of LAMP-based detection methods, are indispensable for addressing these risks. However, the dominant research paradigm, which has long prioritized accelerated amplification kinetics and ultralow detection limits, largely obscures a critical limitation: insufficient detection reliability when deployed in complex field environments. This review consolidates state-of-the-art advances targeting reliability optimization and delineate…

SLID Scam Detection under Temporal Drift: A Practical Framework for DeFi Security † ↗
The Slow Liquidity Drain (SLID) scam has recently become a significant problem for decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and the decentralized finance (DeFi) environment in general. As SLID evolved from rug-pull scams toward cryptocurrency transaction fraud, several studies have implemented and published methods of detecting SLID scams, including heuristic-based and machine-learning (ML) based techniques. However, the applications of those detection methods to the real running DeFi application on blockchain are limited due to several constraints. Specifically, the newly arrived datasets that were col…

Governance and digital risk: How board composition influences cybersecurity disclosure in lebanese banks ↗
Banks are concerned about cybersecurity (CS) and reputational losses nowadays in light of growing cyberattacks and the possibility for major financial loss; hence, transparency in CS policies is necessary. This study looks at the impact of board characteristics on cybersecurity disclosure (CSD) of Lebanese banks. The study employs panel data derived from 50 Lebanese banks over the period 2015-2024, yielding 500 bank-year observations. Using a Linear Probability Model with year control effects, the study examines how board size, board independence, board gender diversity, board meetings, board…

Auditing VirusTotal consensus thresholds in malware benchmarks: A reproducible security-measurement study on EMBER2024 ↗
VirusTotal (VT) consensus is widely used to construct malware benchmarks, yet the consensus threshold is usually fixed without sensitivity analysis. We treat this threshold as a benchmark-design variable, not a new detector. On EMBER2024, released binary labels remain fixed; raising the threshold T only removes low-consensus malware from the training pool. A fixed-label audit sweeps T from the released default 0.065 to 0.50 across four classifier families, an 11-point LightGBM grid, calibration, fixed-form weighting, file-type analyses, and three control arms, totaling 600 model fits over ten…

Complete Chloroplast Genomes of Five Ulmus pumila Cultivars: Comparative Analysis, Evolutionary Dynamics, and Germplasm Authentication Implications ↗
ABSTRACT The complete chloroplast genomes of five Ulmus pumila cultivars (“Yangguang Nanhai,” “Yangguang Nühai,” “Xu Ri,” “Yang Gang,” and “Zhao Yang”) were sequenced and analyzed in this study, with publicly available Ulmus pumila accessions from NCBI included for intraspecific comparative analysis to elucidate cultivar‐level genomic variations, genetic diversity and phylogenetic placement. The chloroplast genomes showed typical circular quadripartite structures, ranging from 159,391 to 159,769 bp with GC contents of 35.47%–35.56%. Each genome encoded 131–133 genes, including 86–89 protein‐co…

CVE-2026-86950: Apple Multiple Products Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability ↗
Apple iOS, macOS, and iPadOS contain an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in CoreGraphics that may lead to arbitrary code execution. Required action: Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BOD 26-04 guidance for cloud services or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable. Stakeholders are responsible for evaluating each asset's internet exposure and ensuring adher

How to assess evidence about Security
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
