THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Privacy

This security thread follows privacy through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

112 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Securing the Edge of Things for the Internet of Medical Things: A Survey of Threats, Privacy, and Trust ↗

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has revolutionized healthcare by enabling continuous monitoring, remote diagnosis, and data-driven decision-making. However, conventional cloud-centric IoMT architectures face significant limitations, including high latency, bandwidth overhead, privacy leakage, and increased exposure to cyberattacks. To address these issues, healthcare systems are increasingly adopting the Edge of Things (EoT) paradigm, which enables localized data processing, real-time intelligence, and improved quality of service. Despite these benefits, the decentralization and heteroge…

ZK-AdapterMark: Privacy-Preserving Provenance Evidence for LoRA Adapters ↗

Low-rank adaptation (LoRA) fine-tunes a large model with a low-rank update over frozen weights. The update travels as a separate adapter file that is easy to copy, alter, and re-upload; so, a hub may have to decide whether a disputed file derives from a registered adapter. Since an altered copy no longer matches the original byte for byte, the usual tool is a fingerprint, secret measurements of the weights that survive moderate edits. Verifying a fingerprint currently requires disclosing either the measurements, which a copier can then evade, or the possibly confidential weights. ZK-AdapterMar…

Privacy and security in electronic health systems: a cross-sectional survey of user awareness, trust, and public health implications ↗

The study explores security protocols, vulnerabilities and mitigation measures of electronic health platforms. The data was obtained from survey responses of 226 participants comprising 115 patients and 111 healthcare professionals in Queensland, Australia. The study used a cross-sectional quantitative design to evaluate user awareness, user trust, user understanding of the regulations, user authentication methods, and user incident response capabilities. The findings reveal notable deficiencies in user education, employee training, adherence to regulations, and response to incidents. Multi-fa…

A Secure and Privacy-Preserving ABAC-Driven Remote Patient Monitoring System Using Blockchain Technology ↗

Rapid development in remote monitoring healthcare systems has led to the need for secure, efficient, and privacy-preserving methods for handling sensitive patient data. Centralized healthcare systems usually experience problems such as unauthorized access, lack of transparency, single point of failure, and difficulty with auditing, among others, that may compromise both patients’ data privacy and security. In order to solve this, the proposed system offers decentralized, transparent, and secure data management in healthcare using blockchain technology and the ABAC approach. A Hyperledger frame…

A UC-Secure Protocol for Privacy-Preserving Preferential Voting with Verifiable Encrypted Ballots ↗

Preferential voting allows participants to rank multiple alternatives according to their preferences rather than being restricted to selecting a single option. Such mechanisms are used in national and local elections and, in decentralized governance, can be applied to committee selection, the prioritization of protocol upgrades or funding applications, and the choice of an electricity supplier or energy source. Of particular practical interest are systems in which participants have different stakes and their voting weights are proportional to those stakes. In the model considered in this work,…

A privacy-preserving federated deep learning framework for real-time fraud detection in decentralized financial systems ↗

The rapid growth of decentralized financial systems has introduced sophisticated fraud that conventional detection methods struggle to identify, due to fragmented data, strict privacy regulations, and the need for real-time response. This study proposes Federated Differentially Private Fraud Detection (FedDP-FD), a privacy-preserving federated deep learning framework that combines differential privacy with a hybrid long short-term memory graph neural network (LSTM-GNN) for real-time fraud detection in decentralized financial networks. To the best of our knowledge, this is among the first works…

How to assess evidence about Privacy

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
