THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Markets

Markets connect capital, goods, services, and labor. This region follows economic developments, public markets, venture capital, fintech, and commerce. Source attention does not constitute financial advice or forecast investment returns.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

249 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Examining customer usage intention of AI assisted chatbots in e-commerce market through customer satisfaction and trust ↗

Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, powered by large data models, have become an essential tool for improving user experience and are increasingly involved in providing customer assistance and recovering from service failures. This study investigates how AI chatbots are used in the United Kingdom (UK) e-commerce sector, with a particular emphasis on how they affect user engagement and service recovery. Drawing upon Expectation Confirmation Model (ECM) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), a research framework is developed to investigate how anthropomorphism cues, perceived ease of use (PEO…

Energy transition and economic growth in low-income countries: the role of climate finance ↗

Abstract Although prices for renewable energy technologies have recently declined, many low-income countries still face barriers to deployment. The energy supply for their growing economies largely originates from the burning of fossil fuels. To avoid accelerating global greenhouse gas emissions, it is crucial that low-income countries enter a low-carbon growth path through the large-scale deployment of renewable energy. This is particularly relevant in countries that import fossil energy resources from global markets, where renewable energy deployment could be a tool for achieving independenc…

CVE-2026-71362: Adobe Commerce and Magento Incorrect Authorization Vulnerability ↗

Adobe Commerce and Magento contains an incorrect authorization vulnerability that could allow an attacker to leverage this vulnerability to gain elevated access to sensitive resources without any user interaction. Required action: Apply mitigations in accordance with vendor instructions, ensuring compliance with CISA’s BOD 26-04 Prioritizing Security Updates Based on Risk (see URL in Notes) guidance and CISA’s “Forensics Triage Requirements” (see URL in Notes). Follow applicable BOD 26-04 guidance for cloud services or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable. Stakeholders

A Gmail-Based Phishing Detection Prototype for Nigerian Fintech Emails Using Sender Checks and BiLSTM Classification ↗

Phishing emails that impersonate Nigerian fintech providers can combine deceptive sender addresses, lookalike links, and locally familiar language. This study presents a Gmail browser extension that integrates sender-domain and URL checks with a bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) classifier. The extension compares visible sender addresses and links with profiles for eight fintech platforms, obtains a phishing probability from a locally hosted Flask service, and displays a legitimate, warning, or phishing verdict when an email is opened. The BiLSTM classifier was evaluated on 8,943 t…

FedIncome: Federated Learning for Income Estimation in Digital Lending Under Data Sovereignty Constraints ↗

Verified income is often unavailable in digital loan applications, forcing lenders to rely on reported income and potentially leading to over-lending, overly conservative offers, or rejection of creditworthy applicants. Cross-institutional data-sharing constraints make this problem especially difficult for smaller lenders with limited training data. We introduce FedIncome, a federated learning framework for income estimation that enables institutions to train a shared model without pooling raw borrower records. Using more than one million LendingClub loans partitioned into $50$ state-level cli…

Model-agnostic noise reduction for high-dimensional time series data ↗

We develop a model-agnostic framework for noise reduction in high-dimensional time series that explicitly targets optimal recovery of a low-dimensional latent dynamic component contaminated by observational white noise. Under the assumption that the latent dynamics live in a low-dimensional linear dynamic subspace, we characterize the optimal linear projection onto the dynamic subspace and provide a geometric description of the residual error in terms of the relative orientation of the signal and noise spaces. We propose estimators for the dynamic subspace and the optimal projection based on l…

Argument-Based Evaluation for AI Recommendations in E-Commerce Decision Support: A Toulmin–FCM Approach ↗

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used to generate recommendations for e-commerce decision support. Existing XAI evaluation typically focuses on explanation attributes or user outcomes such as clarity, usefulness, trust, and acceptance but provides less insight into how an explanation justifies the recommendation itself. This study develops an argument-based evaluation framework by integrating Toulmin’s model of argumentation with fuzzy cognitive maps (FCMs). Toulmin’s model structures explanations through claim, ground, warrant, backing, qualifier, and rebuttal, while FCMs qu…

Multi-Market Joint Optimization and Cooperative Benefit Allocation for Wind–PV–Thermal–Storage Aggregators Considering Battery Degradation Cost ↗

High penetrations of wind and photovoltaic (PV) generation increase renewable-output uncertainty, balancing-market exposure, and the demand for flexible ancillary services. This paper proposes a multi-market stochastic optimization and cooperative benefit-allocation framework for a wind–PV–thermal–storage aggregator considering BESS degradation cost. A price-taking three-stage offering model is formulated for participation in the energy, spinning-reserve, frequency-regulation, peak-shaving, and balancing markets, with non-anticipative offer-curve construction, thermal-unit commitment, BESS int…

Propose, Don't Judge: An Anytime-Valid Referee for LLM Agents That Mine Investment Factors ↗

Language-model agents now run the whole of quantitative factor research: they propose investment factors, backtest them, select the survivors and retire them. We ask which of those jobs an agent should keep. Our answer is governed self-evolution: the agent may propose, and a frozen statistical referee that the agent cannot touch must judge. The referee scores each candidate only on market outcomes revealed after submission, by betting, so its false-discovery guarantee holds at every stopping time for any proposal policy. We cross three proposers (a script, a bandit and a language model) with t…

How to assess evidence about Markets

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
