Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗724 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Insulating‐Passivating Interfaces for Narrow‐Bandgap Tin‐Lead Perovskites Enable High‐Photovoltage in Single‐ and Double‐Junction Solar Cells ↗
ABSTRACT Reducing non‐radiative charge‐carrier recombination at both p‐ and n‐side interfaces of the perovskite layer is crucial for realizing high‐voltage single‐ and multi‐junction solar cells. Herein, it is demonstrated that co‐depositing a mixture of ethane‐1,2‐diammonium iodide and different oleyl‐based amphiphiles renders a passivator‐insulator modification at the perovskite–C 60 interface, which suppresses n‐side contact losses in narrow‐bandgap (∼1.26 eV) Sn–Pb perovskite solar cells. Interestingly, a cationic oleyl‐based amphiphile introduced concurrently with the poly(3,4‐ethylenedio…

Effect of Wind Deflector Inclination Angle on Ballasted Solar Panels Mounting System ↗
Wind load can create high pressure on solar panels, resulting in either physical damage to the solar panels or a reduction in the efficiency of the panels due to the vibration of the panels. Investigations of wind load on solar panels usually focus on the roof-anchored mounting system. In this study, the use of a ballasted PV mounting system is investigated. Modern ballasted PV mounting systems are engineered with wind deflectors attached to the back side of the solar panel. This study investigates the effect of the wind deflector inclination angle along with the PV panel tilt angle by investi…

Disturbance-responsive online lithium-ion battery SOH estimation and analytical knee-point tracking with a Dual-Weibull Physics-Inspired Model ↗
Accurate online estimation of lithium-ion battery state of health (SOH) and knee points remains challenging because feature-based estimators can be sensitive to changes in input-data quality, whereas conventional empirical models may lack the flexibility. Therefore, this study proposes an online SOH and knee-point estimation framework comprising a Transformer-adaptive Kalman filter (AKF) branch, a Dual-Weibull Physics-Inspired Model (DWPIM), and a disturbance-responsive multi-feature Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) gate. The residual-based AKF is adopted to recursively smooth the Transformer outpu…

Coupling Luciferase Activation and Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer Enables High-Contrast Red-Window Calcium Imaging ↗
Abstract Genetically encoded bioluminescent calcium indicators enable excitation-free imaging of Ca2+ dynamics with low background and without excitation-associated photobleaching. However, many exhibit lower dynamic ranges than their fluorescent counterparts, motivating the development of new sensor configurations, particularly for imaging in the red optical window, where tissue absorption and scattering are reduced. Here, we developed HyBRIC and HyBRIC2, two hybrid indicators that integrate Ca2+-dependent luciferase activation and bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (BRET) within a sin…

An energy-reserve joint dispatch strategy for large-scale adiabatic compressed air energy storage with parallel compression and constant/sliding-pressure expansion designs ↗
The spinning reserve burden of wind-intensive power system (WIPS) should not be underestimated. In this regard, benefiting from numerous advantages including rapid response, short mode transition time, narrow reserve deadzone, and significant reserve depth, large-scale adiabatic compressed air energy storage (A-CAES) with parallel compression and constant/sliding-pressure expansion designs is well-suited for providing reserve services. Hence, an energy-reserve joint dispatch (ERJD) strategy for A-CAES-integrated WIPS is proposed. First, the variable-parameter thermodynamic model of A-CAES is c…

Headroom-Constrained Adaptive Power Oscillation Damping for Grid-Forming Battery Energy Storage Systems Under Modal-Estimation Uncertainty ↗
Grid-forming battery energy storage systems (BESSs) can provide fast active-power modulation for oscillation damping, but adaptive action should be limited when modal evidence is weak or the damping-service power reserve is scarce. This paper develops an adaptive power oscillation damping (POD) supervisor that separates damping demand, modal-estimate reliability, and active-power headroom. Three bounded factors regulate only the adaptive gain increment upstream of actuator limits, leaving the baseline POD path and benchmark-specific estimator front end unchanged. Validation combines IEEE 9-bus…

Geometry-Conditioned Conformal Calibration for Guaranteed False-Alarm Control in Uncertain Nonlinear Photovoltaic Systems ↗
A fault detector inside an active fault-tolerant loop drives an automatic action, so every false alarm commands a reconfiguration for a fault that is absent. In a photovoltaic (PV) plant the false-alarm rate has to be controlled within each operating regime, because the healthy uncertainty changes with the position of the sun as inter-row shading switches bypass diodes into conduction. Monitoring limits, including kernel-density ones, fix one threshold over the whole fault-free record, and conformal calibration guarantees the rate only on average across regimes. This work analyses 33 measured…

Targeted Perturbation of Mitochondrial Energy Metabolism via Thermoelectric Nanoflowers for Enhanced Cuproptosis Echoed With Immunotherapy ↗
ABSTRACT Cuproptosis, a novel anti‐cancer mechanism, holds significant potential for triggering sequential immunotherapy to enhance anti‐cancer efficacy. However, this cascade effect is often limited by copper efflux mechanisms mediated by the copper‐transporting ATPase (ATP7B), which reduces intracellular copper accumulation and negates cuproptosis. Here, we designed a mitochondria‐targeting thermoelectric nanoplatform to interfere with the electron transport chain (ETC) of mitochondria, causing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) outage to inhibit ATP7B function, thereby enhancing cuproptosis to ac…

Lignin fast pyrolysis for energy storage: Phenolic-rich oil coproduction and supercapacitor carbon from activation of the residual char ↗
To develop high-performance carbon-based electrode materials for supercapacitors, this study establishes a complete conversion pathway from natural poplar wood to porous activated carbon. Lignin was rapidly extracted within 30 min using a deep eutectic solvent system composed of choline chloride, ethylene glycol, and various benzenesulfonic acids, serving as an intermediate precursor for subsequent carbon production. The extracted lignin, characterized by high thermal stability, abundant active functional groups, and uniform molecular weight, is subjected to fast pyrolysis. The resulting pyrol…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
