THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗674 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Uncertainty-aware adaptive fusion with graceful degradation for trustworthy cervical cytology ↗
Abstract Trustworthy cervical cancer screening requires not only accurate classification but also reliable estimation of predictive uncertainty to identify cases that should be referred to clinical experts. This study presents an uncertainty-aware deep learning framework that integrates an ensemble image encoder comprising ResNet50, DenseNet121, and EfficientNet-B0 with dedicated clinical and genomic encoders through an adaptive fusion mechanism. Modality-specific predictions are subsequently combined using a convex weighting scheme driven by predictive entropy estimated via Monte Carlo Dropou…

Multi-Sensor Dictionary Fusion-Driven Sparse Representation Classification Method for Gearbox Fault Diagnosis ↗
As a powerful tool for sparse signal representation, dictionary learning has gained traction in data-driven fault diagnosis. However, noise interference exists in actual industrial environments; noise as a common feature across all classes inevitably covers discriminative features, thereby impairing the diagnostic performance of methods reliant on dictionary learning. To tackle this challenge, this paper proposes a multi-sensor dictionary fusion-driven sparse representation classification method. The initial step involves leveraging a low-rank shared dictionary learning technique to extract di…

Solar-Assisted IoT waste monitoring system with photovoltaic energy feasibility assessment ↗
Internet of Things (IoT)-based waste monitoring systems are increasingly used to support smart and efficient waste management systems. However, many existing systems still depend on conventional batteries or grid power, which can increase maintenance requirements and limit outdoor deployment. Although solar photovoltaic (PV) energy can support low-power IoT systems, the practical feasibility of PV supply for smart waste-monitoring nodes is often not evaluated quantitatively. This paper presents a solar-assisted IoT waste-monitoring system and assesses the feasibility of photovoltaic energy. Th…

Energy constraints in large scale artificial intelligence and insights from human cognition for efficient large language models ↗
Abstract Large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) systems, especially large language models (LLMs), face growing constraints related to energy use, power delivery, memory traffic, experimentation, and infrastructure capacity. These pressures are often studied separately, which makes it difficult to understand how they interact across the full AI lifecycle. This review develops a cross-layer framework that brings these constraints together and examines whether resource-allocation strategies observed in human cognition can inform more sustainable AI design. We compare human and artificial system…

Numerical study of hydrodynamics and power performance of offshore floating photovoltaic: Effects of connector failure ↗
As a core component of the offshore floating photovoltaic (OFPV) system, connectors exert a decisive influence on the stable operation of the entire multi-float structure. In this study, a coupled hydrodynamic-solar power generation model for the OFPV system is developed. First, a hydrodynamic model of a hinged dual-hexagonal OFPV system is built using the open-source DualSPHysics code, and the model is validated against available physical experimental data. Subsequently, a dynamic photovoltaic power generation model is constructed based on the pitch motion of the floats. Failure cases were si…

Safety evaluation of new energy three-electric systems using enhanced physics-informed neural networks ↗
Accurate safety-state measurement of the three-electric system in new energy vehicles is essential for ensuring reliable and secure operation. This paper proposes an artificial-intelligence-assisted safety measurement framework that integrates a searchable encryption mechanism with Enhanced Physics-Informed Neural Networks (EPINNs). In the proposed framework, the searchable encryption module supports privacy-preserving storage and retrieval of multi-source measurement data, while EPINNs serve as the core Artificial Intelligence (AI) model for multi-parameter state estimation and fault identifi…

Hybrid rank fusion of a group-token transformer with gradient boosting improves detection of evasive and novel-family malware ↗
Static machine-learning malware detectors report near-perfect closed-set accuracy, but the malware that matters operationally is the malware that slips past detection and the malware that belongs to families never seen in training. We study both on three longitudinal benchmarks: EMBER2024 (3.2 M Windows, .NET, APK, ELF and PDF files, 52 training weeks and 12 test weeks, plus a challenge set of 6,315 files that evaded every antivirus engine at first sight), LAMDA (1.0 M Android applications, 2013–2025, with an IID/NEAR/FAR drift protocol) and BODMAS (134 K PE files, 2019–2020, monthly evaluatio…

Design and numerical analysis of antimony trisulfide (Sb 2 S 3 ) solar cell using SCAPS-1D software ↗
Abstract Abstract This study numerically analyzes an Sb₂S₃ based solar cell with the structure FTO/ETL/Sb₂S₃/SpiroOMeTAD/Au using the SCAPS1D software under the AM1.5G spectrum. The impact of series resistance (Rs), defect density and the effective capture cross-section of charge carriers at the Sb₂S₃/CdS interface were first studied. Alternative electron transport layers (ETLs) including Cd1-xZnₓS, ZnO1-xSx, and TiO₂, were then investigated. The results indicate that optimal band alignment at the ETL/Sb2S3 interface is achieved for a sulfur content of 0.6 in ZnO1-xSx and a zinc contents of 0.5…

Charging of a Quantum Battery by a Two-Photon Quantum Pulse ↗
We investigate the charging of a harmonic-oscillator quantum battery by a propagating two-photon quantum pulse coupled through a two-level-system charger. Excitation-number conservation reduces the dynamics to a sequential response of the first and second excitation sectors, whose effective non-Hermitian generators exhibit two exceptional points separating overdamped, mixed, and underdamped regimes. We derive the exact full-charging amplitude and the response-matched two-photon temporal mode that achieves perfect charging in the ideal resonant single-channel model. For experimentally accessibl…

Frequency security-aware production scheduling of utility-scale off-grid renewable P2H systems coordinating heterogeneous electrolyzers ↗
Renewable power-to-hydrogen (ReP2H) enables large-scale renewable energy utilization and supports the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors, such as chemicals and maritime transport, via hydrogen-based renewable ammonia and methanol fuels. As a result, utility-scale ReP2H projects are expanding worldwide. However, off-grid ReP2H systems exhibit low inertia due to their converter-dominated nature, making frequency security a critical concern. Although recent studies show that electrolyzers can contribute to frequency regulation (FR), their support capability depends on operating states and l…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
