Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗726 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Cross-modal attention fusion of ultrasound imaging and clinical tabular data for breast lesion classification: A multimodal deep learning framework ↗
Abstract Accurate classification of breast lesions in ultrasound images is an important yet challenging task, plagued by visual ambiguity between classes and morphological variability within classes. This paper presents a multimodal deep learning framework combining EfficientNet-B4 visual features with an 11-dimensional, leakage-free clinical tabular feature vector, organized into three feature-group tokens (intensity, texture, and geometry), through a multi-token cross-modal attention fusion mechanism. A systematic audit of candidate tabular features identified that eight commonly used lesion…

Suppression of thermal runaway in lithium-ion battery modules using zonal variable flow immersion cooling ↗
The temperature sensitivity of lithium-ion battery modules is well recognized, and the requirements under normal operation and extreme thermal runaway conditions cannot be simultaneously satisfied by conventional thermal management strategies. A baffle-assisted zonal variable-flow dynamic immersion cooling system is proposed in this study to optimize the internal flow field, eliminate low-velocity dead zones, enhance convective heat transfer, and realize demand-oriented cooling via differential inlet velocities in the upper and lower channels. A multi-physics coupling model calibrated and vali…

Thermophysical characterization, kinetic analysis, and multi-response optimization of paraffin wax/eicosane binary mixtures for lithium-ion battery thermal management system ↗
Efficient thermal management is essential for the safety, performance, and lifetime of lithium-ion batteries, especially in high-power applications such as electric vehicles, where elevated temperatures and thermal non-uniformity accelerate degradation. Passive cooling by phase change materials (PCMs) offers a compact, energy-efficient solution. In this study, eleven paraffin wax/eicosane (PW/E) binary composite PCMs were prepared across the full composition range (S1–S11; 100/0 to 0/100 wt%) for the Molicel INR 21700 P42A battery module. Simultaneous thermal analysis (STA) under argon (10 °C·…

Nuclear Wrinkles Result From Geometric Adaptations to Cellular and Nuclear Morphological Changes in Epithelial Cells ↗
Mechanical cues influence cell behavior and fate and are frequently accompanied by changes in nuclear shape; however, how epithelial nuclei accommodate such deformations remains incompletely understood. In this article, we investigated the formation and regulation of nuclear wrinkles (NWs), inward folds of the nuclear envelope, in human epithelial cells. Using quantitative confocal imaging in 2.5D spheroid cultures and controlled 2D monolayers, we found that NWs formed frequently in MCF10A cells but rarely in hTERT-RPE1 cells, indicating pronounced cell-type specificity. NW frequency increased…

A unified CutFEM formulation for finite-strain elasticity: energy minimisation and corner singularities ↗
We present a fully variational, model-independent formulation of the Cut Finite Element Method (CutFEM) for finite-strain elasticity. The discrete problem is derived from a single augmented energy functional consisting of the bulk hyperelastic energy, the Nitsche terms that impose the boundary conditions weakly, and the ghost-penalty stabilisation. At each nonlinear iterate, the residual is the exact first variation of this functional with the adaptive Nitsche weight frozen, while the correction uses a symmetric, coercive approximation of its Hessian. Automatic differentiation (AD) generates t…

Flow of local quantum fluids: Conservation laws and vertex corrections from many-body linear-response theory with local self-energy ↗
In non-diffusive conduction regimes of strongly correlated quantum electron systems, electromagnetic perturbations simultaneously probe the electronic dynamics in time and space: the exchanged energy $\hbar ω$ excites retarded, i.e., frequency-dependent, many-body interactions, while the probing spatial modulation renders the response spatially nonlocal, i.e., dependent on the external wave vector $\vec{q}$. This work derives the nonlocal electrodynamic response of such dynamical quantum fluids assuming local but frequency-dependent self-energies and particle-hole irreducible two-particle vert…

Pore-scale modeling of capillary-driven binder migration during battery electrode drying ↗
Sodium-ion batteries employing hard carbon electrodes are considered a drop-in technology for lithium-ion batteries. Electrode drying is a critical manufacturing step, as binder migration during pore emptying impacts the mechanical integrity and electrical performance of the electrode. Existing modeling approaches predominantly rely on the film shrinkage phase in a one dimensional way or neglect the capillary transport, resulting in a lack of physically consistent microstructure resolved predictions of binder migration. In this work, a spatially resolved pore scale continuum model is extended…

Anvaya: phylogenomic analysis of chromosome fusion-and-mixing characters and detection of shared whole-genome duplication ↗
Chromosome-scale conservation of gene linkage (macrosynteny) provides phylogenetic characters largely independent of sequence data. Fusion of ancestral linkage groups, and especially the subsequent interspersion (mixing) of their genes, is argued to be effectively irreversible, and such synapomorphic events have been used to resolve deep, contentious nodes. I present Anvaya, a dependency-light, open-source toolkit of two Python programs with companion threshold-calibration tools which takes reciprocal-best-hit (RBH) synteny data directly to a phylogenetic analysis that codes fusion and mixing

The replication checkpoint couples fork progression to the release of transcribed genes from nuclear pores ↗
The nuclear envelope contributes to chromatin compartmentalization in eukaryotes by anchoring heterochromatin to the lamina and active transcription sites to nuclear pore complexes (NPCs). During DNA replication, chromatin association with the nuclear envelope is thought to act as a topological barrier to DNA polymerases, potentially exacerbating transcription-replication conflicts (TRCs). While limited evidence suggests that the DNA replication checkpoint kinase Rad53/CHK1 promotes the release of genes from the NPC during replicative stress, the global scale and precise regulation of this pro

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
