THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Energy

Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

692 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

NeuralBES: A Differentiable, Control-Aware Emulator for Scalable Building Energy Modeling ↗

Demand-side flexibility i.e. forecasting, shifting, and curtailing residential energy loads, depends on thermal models trusted across millions of heterogeneous buildings. Existing tools force a hard tradeoff: high-fidelity physics simulators such as EnergyPlus are accurate but sequential and require per-building calibration, while purely data-driven sequence models scale but abandon the physical structure that makes their predictions trustworthy. We introduce NeuralBES (Building Energy Simulation), a differentiable emulator that resolves this tradeoff by parameterizing a resistance--capacitanc…

Binary Optimization of Measurement Groupings for Quantum Energy Estimation ↗

Repeated measurements can dominate the resources required for quantum energy estimation, making the choice of which Pauli observables to measure together a central optimization problem for variational quantum algorithms. We formulate fully commuting measurement grouping as a classical binary optimization problem based on clique selection and construct non-overlapping groups using mixed-integer linear programming (MILP). For a benchmark of molecular Hamiltonians, groupings optimized with approximate covariances reduce the non-overlapping measurement requirement $\varepsilon^2M$ by $51.8\%$ on a…

Real-time Tokamak Equilibrium Reconstruction Under Limited Experimental Data via Physics-Grounded Synthetic Pre-training ↗

Real-time equilibrium reconstruction is essential for tokamak plasma control. Data-driven surrogates are usually trained on high-quality labeled experimental data, but producing a large amount of labeled data sufficient for surrogate learning requires many expensive discharge shots, and few exist at the start of a new campaign or the operation of a new device. To reduce this cost, we propose to pre-train on simulated equilibria, generated at low cost by physics-based simulation, then fine-tune on limited real data. We evaluate under three settings with increasing difficulties, i.e., in-distrib…

Adaptive Resonance-Tuned Vibration Energy Harvester with a Variable-Inertia Architecture ↗

Conventional vibration energy harvesters exhibit a pronounced reduction in output when the excitation frequency deviates from the structural natural frequency. To address this limitation, this study develops a variable-inertia piezoelectric–electromagnetic hybrid harvester in which a sliding tuning mass modifies the effective inertia and, consequently, the natural frequency of the cantilever system. A coupled electromechanical model and a finite-element modal model are established. An output-voltage-feedback bidirectional hill-climbing algorithm is implemented on an STM32 controller to identif…

Non-coordinated degradation of cohesive traction and fracture energy in hygrothermally aged epoxy adhesive bonds ↗

The long-term performance of adhesively bonded joints is governed by the durability of the adhesive layer under environmental exposure. For amine-cured epoxy systems, hygrothermal ageing has been associated with degradation of interfacial cohesive-zone parameters—the peak traction and the fracture energy—at systematically different rates, through radical-mediated C–O bond scission that decreases cross-link density and glass transition temperature. The proposed cohesive-zone-level framework is evaluated across multiple epoxy adhesive formulations (brittle/structural and toughened), while quanti…

ASAF-MedRec: Auxiliary-supervised semantic alignment and fusion for medication recommendation ↗

Medication recommendation aims to predict appropriate medication combinations according to a patient’s clinical status. Existing methods have made important progress by modeling longitudinal EHR trajectories, medication relations, external knowledge graphs, molecular structures, and large language model (LLM) knowledge, but the direct semantic matching between textual patient conditions and candidate medication descriptions remains insufficiently explored. This paper investigates current-visit textual semantic matching and proposes ASAF-MedRec, an auxiliary-supervised semantic alignment and fu…

How to assess evidence about Energy

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
