Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗695 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

A symmetric bifacial photovoltaic-membrane distillation system for simultaneous freshwater and electricity generation ↗
A novel three-channel membrane distillation (MD) unit coupled with bifacial photovoltaic (PV) system (two monofacial PV cells), intended to deliver freshwater and electricity at the same time, is examined here through joint experimental testing and numerical modelling. Two PV modules (200 mm × 100 mm) were considered in the numerical model (on the upper and lower faces of the MD unit), whereas two electric heaters with a total power input of 95.4 W were used experimentally to reproduce the thermal behavior of the upper and lower PV cells. The numerical predictions showed good agreement with th…

Lightweight energy efficient source-level adaptive computing framework for sustainable event-driven data transmission ↗
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are widely used in Internet of Things (IoT) for various monitoring applications in which sensor nodes are equipped with limited battery power. A large amount of energy is wasted in such applications due to frequent data transmission through repeated switching of the transmission using between ON/OFF states. In order to avoid such energy wastages several existing methodologies like batch-wise transmission and sleep scheduling were developed but they are not aware on the importance of the collected data. Though the switching energy is controlled in such methods, i…

Multi-view stereo-based 3D modeling of waste pits in waste-to-energy plants with spatial-context feature fusion ↗
Three-dimensional (3D) modeling of waste pits can support waste pile monitoring and crane-assisted feeding in waste-to-energy (WtE) plants. RGB image-based multi-view stereo (MVS) offers a flexible perception route, but its performance remains limited by non-uniform illumination, weakly textured waste surfaces, local specular highlights, occlusion, and changes in pile morphology. This study aims to improve the reconstruction continuity and relative accuracy of RGB-MVS under these waste-pit-oriented visual conditions. To this end, SCFM-MVSNet is proposed by introducing a Spatial-Context Fusion…

Design and thermal–hydraulic analysis of a directly heated test facility simulating plate type fuel with narrow rectangular channel for nuclear research reactors ↗
Nuclear research reactors often use plate type fuel assemblies where coolant is passed through a set of narrow rectangular channels to transfer the heat from the reactor core. The channel gap between fuel plates strongly influences hydraulic resistance, fuel temperature, and the available margin to boiling, making it one of the key design parameters governing reactor safety during normal operation, anticipated operational occurrences, and accident conditions. This paper presents the design and development of the Heat-transfer Experiment Loop for Plate geometry (HELP), an out-of-pile test facil…

Damaged Building Identification in Earthquake-Stricken Areas Based on Multi-Feature Fusion of Optical and SAR Imagery ↗
Rapid and reliable damaged building identification after earthquakes is of great significance for emergency rescue and post-disaster assessment. Remote sensing imagery provides important technical support for post-earthquake building damage assessment. To address the strong interference from background land-cover types in earthquake-stricken areas and the insufficient stability of damage identification based on single data source, this study proposes an optical–SAR multi-feature collaborative framework for damaged building identification. Firstly, by using pre-earthquake GF-2 optical imagery a…

Sustainable energy transition options for Russia ↗
Following the Paris Agreement, one way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and minimise the consequences of climate change is to pursue the goal of a sustainable energy supply by renewable energy sources. This study explores transition pathways towards sustainable energy system in the regions of Russia. Potential scenarios are presented in the power, heat, transport, and industry sectors. The study leverages an energy-industry system transition model in hourly resolution to investigate various policy scenarios ranging from 100% renewable energy in 2050 to net-zero emissions by 2060 with higher…

Phasing Out Coal Power Through Cross‐Border Renewable Energy Trade in the Asia‐Pacific ↗
ABSTRACT Coal remains the backbone of electricity generation in the Asia‐Pacific region, accounting for half of total regional output and two‐thirds of global coal‐fired capacity. The substantial environmental and public‐health externalities of coal highlight the urgent need to accelerate the renewable energy transition. Limited research has examined whether cross‐border renewable energy trade could support a complete coal phase‐out. This study provides a quantitative assessment of how electricity trade under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership can replace coal while maintaining a…

Decoupling and control of sub-beam pointing in fiber laser arrays based on differential energy detection ↗
Correcting tip-tilt aberrations is essential for improving beam-combination performance on the target plane in laser-array systems. In a multi-beam system, however, the correspondence between each tip-tilt corrector and its target-plane spot is generally unknown, making it difficult to apply a control signal directly to the appropriate corrector. Existing tip-tilt correction methods therefore rely largely on iterative optimization, which often requires many iterations when the initial aberration is large and consequently limits correction speed. This paper proposes a differential-energy-detect…

A Fusion Framework Integrating UAV LiDAR and SBAS-InSAR for Enhanced Mining-Induced Surface Subsidence Modeling ↗
To address the differences in spatial resolution, monitoring accuracy, and applicability across different subsidence-gradient conditions between Digital Subsidence Models (DSuMs) derived from UAV LiDAR and SBAS-InSAR, this study proposes a multi-source fusion framework that integrates systematic discrepancy correction, spatial residual modeling, and differentiated fusion for constructing a high-precision surface subsidence model. First, systematic biases between LiDAR-DSuM and InSAR-DSuM are identified through consistency analysis of subsidence differences within their overlapping areas. After…

Consistent dilatancy-based constitutive model of rock salt for geo-energy storage applications: An open-source numerical implementation ↗
Accurate numerical simulation of salt cavern performance in underground geo-energy storage of hydrogen, natural gas, compressed air, and CO 2 requires the integration of precise design criteria into a rigorous mechanical constitutive framework. This framework should be consistent with the design criteria, describing all mechanical loading (either short or long-term) deformations with a single parameter set. Due to methodological disconnects between the experimental derivation of design criteria and constitutive laws, only a limited number of consistent constitutive models exist in the literatu…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
