Earlier sources: Energy

Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

740 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Online health monitoring framework of deep-sea UUVs via multi-sensor fusion and Koopman operator-based residual inference ↗

Deep-sea unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) depend on reliable propulsion systems during cruising, docking, and observation missions. However, online propulsion health monitoring remains challenging because high-frequency reference states are difficult to obtain in real time, while the nonlinear dynamics of UUVs make the relationship between thruster inputs and state responses difficult to characterize accurately. To address these challenges, this study proposes an online health monitoring framework that employs high-rate factor graph optimization (FGO) fused states as reference states and in…

Numerical and machine learning analysis of Rb2AgInBr6 lead-free double perovskite solar cells ↗

Abstract To address the environmental concerns and stability limitations associated with conventional lead-based perovskite photovoltaics, this study proposes a lead-free double perovskite solar cell based on an optimized $$\hbox {ITO}$$ / $$\hbox {C}_{60}$$ / $$\hbox {Rb}_{2} \hbox {AgInBr}_{6}$$ / $$\hbox {Cu}_{2}\hbox {NiSnS}_{4}$$ / $$\hbox {Pt}$$ heterostructure. A hybrid computational framework combining SCAPS-1D numerical simulation under AM1.5G illumination with machine-learning (ML) analysis was developed to systematically investigate the influence of key device parameters, including…

Accelerating solar thermal energy storage via graded triply periodic minimal surface structures ↗

Solar thermal energy storage (STES), which couples solar thermal conversion with latent heat storage of phase change materials (PCMs), offers a promising route to the continuous utilization of intermittent solar radiation and plays an important role in the decarbonization of heat supply. However, conventional STES systems are often limited by slow charging rates and low overall efficiency, primarily because of poor light penetration and insufficient heat transfer within PCMs. To address these limitations, this study proposes architecturally graded triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) skeleto…

Design of a novel hybrid advanced adiabatic compressed air and gravity energy storage system ↗

Abstract To enhance the energy efficiency and energy density of physical energy storage (PES) systems, this study introduces a novel hybrid advanced adiabatic compressed air and gravity energy storage (HAACAGES) system. This system integrates advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage (AA-CAES) and gravity energy storage (GES) components, utilizing the mass of the compressed air (denoted by Δ m ) to make the HAACAGES system overwhelm the capabilities of individual systems. A numerical analysis model was established to validate the proposed system. Results demonstrate the HAACAGES system…

Mapping distribution system operators for electricity and gas around the world ↗

This paper presents a global mapping of energy distribution system operators (DSOs). The mapping illustrates the variation in power and gas distribution sector utilities across the world. We analyze information on 194 electricity and 67 gas utilities serving capital cities in 194 countries. The paper compares information on size, ownership, degree of integration, performance and quality of service. We find a large degree of variation across the world with significant differences between continents and economic groupings. Overall, the paper highlights the significant challenges facing many dist…

A lightweight pose-guided fusion approach for accurate safety helmet compliance monitoring on edge devices ↗

This paper presents an AI framework employing automated visual analysis to verify personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance in complex construction and industrial settings. Within the framework of engineering automation, robust semantic modeling of worker safety configurations is essential for enabling real-time hazard monitoring and data-driven risk management. In such environments, lightweight architectures are crucial for low-latency inference and efficient deployment on resource-constrained edge computing devices. However, existing studies rely on standalone object detection, leading…

A Bijective Image Retargeting Algorithm Based on Conformal Energy ↗

Abstract. Image retargeting, which resizes an image to a prescribed aspect ratio by determining an optimal warping map, has gained substantial interest in imaging science. Despite significant advances, existing methods often fail to ensure bijective warping maps essential for preserving visual information. This paper introduces a novel bijective image retargeting model through conformal energy minimization of the deformation field. The proposed model establishes mathematical rigor by proving well-posedness for the optimal warping map in both continuous and discrete settings and showing that th…

How to assess evidence about Energy

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
