THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗755 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Aqueous Processing of High‐Loading LNMO Electrodes for High‐Energy Lithium Batteries ↗
Transitioning toward more sustainable materials and production methods has been one of the most critical points for expanding the lithium‐ion battery (LIB) market in the last decade. At the same time, energy storage applications require high energy density and high power with demanding performance targets such as wide operating voltage and fast charging capabilities. Along with these high‐performance requirements, environmental concerns such as per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS)‐based binders, organic solvents for electrode manufacturing, critical raw materials in the positive electrode (cathode)…

Co‐Optimisation of Battery Energy Storage Systems for Voltage Regulation and Reverse Power Flow Control in PV‐Enriched Low Voltage Distribution Network ↗
ABSTRACT High photovoltaic (PV) penetration in low‐voltage (LV) radial feeders often causes midday voltage rise and upstream reverse power flow (RPF), constraining further PV integration without local flexibility. In this paper, distributed battery energy storage systems (BESS) are investigated as a practical flexibility resource to absorb surplus PV energy, support voltage regulation and improve feeder operating conditions. A coordinated planning‐and‐operation framework is developed to determine optimal BESS placement, sizing and cooperative operation using limited information exchange. The p…

Dynamic Reconstruction of Metal–Organic Framework and Metal–Organic Framework‐Derived Electrocatalysts for Bifunctional Oxygen Electrocatalysis in Alkaline Energy Devices ↗
ABSTRACT Alkaline oxygen reduction reaction (ORR)/OER bifunctionality is central to rechargeable Zn–air batteries, reversible fuel cells and regenerative electrolysis. These technologies are promising for mitigating carbon emissions resulting from fossil fuel energy dependency, driving the energy sector towards a carbon‐neutral energy cycle. Due to their excellent intrinsic activity, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives have emerged as promising materials for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysis. Despite their great activity, MOFs often transform under operating potential. The…

RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES IN TÜRKIYE’S NUCLEAR ENERGY POLICY: THE AKKUYU NPP BOO MODEL ↗
As of now, Türkiye has not commissioned any nuclear reactors to produce electricity; however, a major project is being completed with the Russian Federation under a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model and is expected to begin operations towards the end of 2026. The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) represents not only a milestone in diversifying Türkiye’s energy portfolio and transferring nuclear technology knowledge, but also introduces the country to the complex challenge of managing radioactive waste for the first time. This study provides an overview of Türkiye’s nuclear energy policy, the implem…

Rope nets – energy gain and sink ↗
Abstract The combination of cable nets with PV modules has been an approach for about 15 years that has only been implemented very rarely so far. The reasons for this are the flexibility, efficiency and load‐bearing capacity of PV modules. If the PV modules are positioned in between the meshes, they are exposed to wind and snow loads as well as temperature fluctuations. This means that the solar cells are involved in load transfer, which affects the durability of the solar cells and the contacts. The development of a lightweight, translucent cable net covered with PV modules up to a mockup of…

A Review of Nuclear-Organellar Communication in Response to Heat Stress ↗
Plants coordinate their growth and developmental programs through dynamic communication in the core of the nucleus, enabling them to adapt to persistently high-temperature environments. Upon heat stress, plants primarily perceive and transduce thermal signals between the nucleus and other organelles, a process defined as nuclear-organellar communication. The published research on plants in response to heat environments mainly focuses on sensing heat physical signals from the plasma membrane (PM)/cytosol to the nucleus, eliciting nuclear transcriptional reprogramming and decoding organelle-deri…

Accurate non-invasive prediction of battery internal temperature to enhance battery safety ↗
Thermal runaway in batteries, driven by uncontrolled temperature rise, remains a critical safety challenge, highlighting limitations in temperature monitoring and management. Here, we report a non-invasive internal temperature evaluation method based on in-operando isothermal calorimetry. The method quantitatively characterizes heat generation and evaluates internal temperature gradients under various operating conditions, demonstrating the existence of thermal hysteresis and its dependence on temperature and charge/discharge rates. Applying heat transfer theory to boundary heat flux data obta…

Thermosensor OsTT3.1 enhances rice thermotolerance by degrading OsGSK2 to reduce OsHsfB2c phosphorylation and nuclear translocation ↗
Heat stress significantly impacts rice productivity, making understanding of molecular mechanisms crucial for crop improvement. Here, we report a regulatory pathway in rice that integrates a membrane-localized E3 ubiquitin ligase (OsTT3.1), glycogen synthase kinase 2 (OsGSK2), and the heat shock factor B2c (OsHsfB2c) to modulate thermotolerance. We demonstrate that OsGSK2 directly interacts with and phosphorylates OsHsfB2c both in vitro and in vivo, a modification that promotes its nuclear translocation. Functional analyses revealed that mutations in both OsGSK2 and OsHsfB2c enhance heat toler…

SiO2-Amine Materials from Geothermal Silica Waste with Potential Application in Direct CO2 Air Capture ↗
Abstract Direct CO2 air capture (DAC) has become a key strategy for tackling climate change, as it can help reduce the concentration of this greenhouse gas (GHG) in the atmosphere, which, as of July 2026, has risen to 429.12 ppm. Most DAC techniques are based on adsorption processes, in which sorbents must have high adsorption capacity, good selectivity, easy regeneration, low energy penalty, suitable adsorption–desorption kinetics, excellent chemical stability, and low cost. Amine functionalization of porous materials has been proposed to improve CO2 adsorption capacity and selectivity, and u…

A PDE-Driven Laplacian Multi-Exposure Fusion for Structure Preserving Image ↗
Multi-Exposure Image Fusion (MEF) aims to fuse a single visually symmetricalimage, which combines the luminosity and preserves the structural data of a scene atdifferent exposure levels. Traditionally, Laplacian Pyramid (LP) fusion methods rely onGaussian smoothing, which diffuses intensity isotropically, resulting in blurred edges, haloartifacts, and loss of fine detail. To overcome these limitations, the paper proposes amethod comprising Mean Curvature and Laplacian Pyramid that combines curvature-based edge preservation with multiscale structural decomposition. Mean CurvatureFiltering (MCF)…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
