Earlier sources: Energy

Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

666 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

KLDD: Underwater image enhancement via KL-divergence-driven color cast correction and multistage enhancement fusion ↗

Underwater images often suffer from severe color casts, nonuniform illumination, reduced contrast, and blurred details because of wavelength-dependent absorption and light scattering. To address these degradations, this study proposes KLDD, an underwater image enhancement method based on KL-divergence-driven color cast correction and multistage enhancement fusion. First, a KL-divergence-driven adaptive color cast correction module measures the discrepancy between the two-dimensional joint chrominance distributions of an underwater image and a natural reference image in the CIELAB color space.…

A mixed-scale hardware-in-the-loop testing framework for wave energy converter-autonomous underwater vehicle systems ↗

Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) offers a promising pathway for evaluating wave energy converter–autonomous underwater vehicle (WEC–AUV) systems in the laboratory, where a mix of laboratory-scale waves and full-scale AUVs present significant challenges for conventional testing approaches. This study aims to develop and validate an HIL testing framework that reproduces wave forces and dock motions for WEC-AUV systems by integrating wave tank experiments with numerical simulations. Core methodologies, including wave distortion, wave prediction, excitation force estimation, and dock motion control, wer…

An efficiency-oriented hierarchical energy management strategy for renewable electric-hydrogen systems with adaptive multi-stack PEMFC activation ↗

Abstract The growing integration of renewable energy sources requires efficient management strategies for electric-hydrogen coupled systems. Conventional single fuel cell configurations suffer from limited power capacity and poor efficiency under dynamic conditions, while existing power allocation methods for multi-stack fuel cell systems often neglect the coordinated effects of battery state of charge and hydrogen storage conditions. This study proposes a hierarchical energy management strategy for electric-hydrogen coupled multi-stack proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) systems, combi…

Cheby-FENN: a Chebyshev-enhanced feature expansion neural network for electricity theft detection ↗

Abstract Electricity theft is a major contributor to non-technical losses in power systems, causing substantial financial losses and potentially affecting grid reliability. This paper proposes a lightweight neural network framework that incorporates a third-degree Chebyshev polynomial feature-expansion layer at the input stage to enhance the representation of nonlinear electricity consumption patterns. The proposed framework is evaluated on two publicly available benchmark datasets, Open Energy Data Initiative (OEDI), and State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), representing binary and multi-cl…

Spectral LED technology assessment for food retail refrigeration: correlated color temperature predicts chromaticity but not energy or photooxidative performance ↗

Lighting accounts for 15–25% of electricity use in commercial buildings, yet LED products are still specified almost entirely by correlated color temperature (CCT), a metric that says nothing about energy performance or environmental impact. This study proposes a spectrum-based, multi-criteria method for selecting LEDs in commercial refrigerated display, evaluating luminous efficacy, photooxidative product degradation, and visual quality as three explicit criteria rather than collapsing them into a single index. CCT turns out to be a poor basis for energy specification: 73% of the variation in…

Learning Nonlinear Finite Element Solution Operators Using Multilayer Perceptrons and Energy Minimization ↗

Abstract. We develop and evaluate a method for learning solution operators to nonlinear problems governed by partial differential equations (PDEs). The approach is based on a finite element discretization and aims at representing the solution operator by a multilayer perceptron that takes problem data variables as input and gives a prediction of the finite element solution as output. The variables will typically correspond to parameters in a parametrization of input data such as boundary conditions, coefficients, and right-hand sides. The output will be an approximation of the corresponding fi…

Energy-Aware Two-Sided Learning for Dynamic Matching Games in Mobile Crowdsensing ↗

Mobile crowdsensing (MCS) is a promising enabler of Sensing-as-a-Service (SaaS) for next generation networks (NGNs), where sensing, communication, and computing are jointly considered as on-demand services. In MCS, mobile units (MUs) collect and deliver sensing data to data requesters (DRs) via a mobile crowdsensing platform (MCSP) in exchange for monetary incentives. After sensing tasks are announced, MUs strategically select tasks to maximize their long-term utility while accounting for energy and time costs, whereas the MCSP assigns tasks to maximize its own service revenue and data quality…

Study of low-frequency core-edge coupling in a tokamak: III. Core-localized MHD continuum pulsations \& distant forced reconnection ↗

Slow magnetoacoustic pulsations (SMAPs) are found in MHD simulations of a tokamak plasma whose safety factor $q$ near the center is flat and slightly above unity ($q \gtrsim 1$). SMAPs are located on the central plateau of the slow magnetoacoustic continuum $ω_{\rm S} = k_\parallel c_{\rm S}$, where $c_{\rm S}$ is the speed of sound and $k_\parallel$ the wavenumber parallel to the magnetic field. In our model, SMAPs exist when the ion viscosity and thermal diffusivity are sufficiently low. They can be driven unstable by a pressure gradient in the $q \sim 1$ region when the electric resistivity…

How to assess evidence about Energy

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
