THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗661 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Lamin B1 Coordinates the Assembly of the Nuclear Lamina ↗
The nuclear lamina provides essential mechanical stability to protect the genome, yet how lamins target the nuclear rim and assemble into an organized meshwork remains unclear. To address this, we generated smooth muscle cells lacking all three lamin genes (“LKO cells”) and expressed individual lamins at physiological levels. All lamins localized to the nuclear rim, but with distinct requirements: lamin B1 and lamin B2 required farnesylation, whereas prelamin A did not. Lamin C and mature lamin A also localized efficiently, demonstrating that C-terminal processing is not required for A-type la…

Behavioral Determinants of Prosumers’ Efficiency-Enhancing Changes in Energy Consumption Patterns ↗
One of the key challenges of the contemporary solar energy market is matching supply and demand. The demand side of this problem largely depends on the difficult-to-predict, individualized, numerous, and dispersed behaviors of prosumers. With this in mind, the main objective of the study is to identify the structural relationships between types of prosumer behavior and the motivators encouraging prosumers to modify their existing habits. Beyond this main objective, the study also assessed prosumers’ perception of positive and negative motivators and identified patterns of prosumer behavior reg…

Overcoming the Energy–Health Trade-Off in Smart Buildings: AI-Driven Dynamic Thresholding for Sustainable HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Actuation and Multi-Pollutant Management ↗
Modern smart buildings face the challenge of balancing energy-saving requirements with strict indoor air quality regulations. The aim of this research is to develop an intelligent, energy-efficient, and robust multi-pollutant forecasting and control framework that integrates hybrid LSTM–GRU forecasting with Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO)-based reinforcement learning to maintain indoor air quality while minimizing unnecessary energy consumption and mechanical actuation. Using Green Computing principles, the agent significantly reduces excessive mechanical energy use while dynamically and si…

Numerical Modelling and Analysis of the Spectral Response and Performance of Single-Junction InGaN Solar Cells Under Monochromatic Illumination ↗
In this work, a comprehensive numerical study of the optoelectronic properties of a single-junction photovoltaic (PV) solar cell is presented. The influence of the indium composition, active-layer thickness, and illumination wavelength on the device performance parameters is investigated. The results show that increasing the illumination wavelength broadens the spectral response and enhances optical absorption, with the absorption coefficient reaching for x ≈ 1. However, for indium compositions above 0.5, degradation of the crystalline quality leads to an increase in Shockley–Read–Hall non-rad…

Energy transition and economic growth in low-income countries: the role of climate finance ↗
Abstract Although prices for renewable energy technologies have recently declined, many low-income countries still face barriers to deployment. The energy supply for their growing economies largely originates from the burning of fossil fuels. To avoid accelerating global greenhouse gas emissions, it is crucial that low-income countries enter a low-carbon growth path through the large-scale deployment of renewable energy. This is particularly relevant in countries that import fossil energy resources from global markets, where renewable energy deployment could be a tool for achieving independenc…

Machine Learning–Based Demand Side Management for Industrial Load Scheduling with Solar Energy Integration ↗
As the effects of volatile electricity prices, network constraints, and the growing use of renewable energy sources on industrial facilities become more significant, the traditional load scheduling approach that uses fixed operating plans is being challenged, and this has led to reconsideration of how load scheduling is managed in light of the convergence and interplay of these factors. Conventional methods fail to take into account hourly price fluctuations and the time-dependent availability of solar energy, leading to unnecessary operational costs and inefficient energy use in many instance…

Physics-guided attention neural network for interpretable and robust photovoltaic fault classification with strict external validation ↗
Accurate and interpretable fault diagnosis in photovoltaic (PV) systems is essential for improving operational reliability and reducing energy losses. This study proposes a Physics-Guided Attention Neural Network (PGANN) for three-class PV fault classification, including Open-circuit, Short-circuit, and Partial Shading conditions. The proposed framework integrates physics-guided feature engineering into the input representation through calculated power, power error, and normalized voltage ratio, thereby embedding electrical-domain knowledge without imposing unstable physics-based penalty terms…

Conspicuity and characterization of pre-selected hypodense hepatic lesions in pancreatic cancer patients: limited clinical value of dual-energy portal phase CT ↗
PURPOSE: To assess the impact of 50-keV virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) and iodine metrics on conspicuity and characterization of hypodense hepatic lesions in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients undergoing dual-energy portal phase CT. METHODS: Consecutive patients with hypodense hepatic lesions who underwent dual-energy portal phase CT between January and December 2025 were retrospectively identified. Lesions were pre-selected by a resident. Two radiologists independently evaluated blended and 50-keV VMIs for lesion conspicuity and confidence for metastasis using 5-point Liker…

Evaluation of a cathelicidin derivative fusion polypeptide for pathogen-targeted antimicrobial approach ↗
Abstract The human cathelicidin LL-37 is one of the most promising candidates for replacing standard antibiotics due to its broad-spectrum activity and low propensity for resistance development. However, the widespread clinical adoption of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) is currently limited by the high cost and several constraints of traditional chemical synthesis. Recombinant expression offers a cost-effective and scalable alternative, although challenges including host toxicity and low expression yields remain. In previous studies, the human elastin-like polypeptide (HELP) carrier effectively…

The Italian geothermal play-typing, a blueprint for unlocking national geothermal development ↗
Abstract Italy has a long history of geothermal use, but a comprehensive, updated national assessment has been lacking. This study is the first to systematically evaluate geothermal systems across Italy using the modern geothermal play concept. The primary objective is to provide a standardized, transparent, and reproducible basis for comparing geothermal systems within Italy and across European geological settings. The assessment combines geological, tectonic, geothermal, and utilization data within a GIS framework to map geothermal play types, distinguishing convection- and conduction-domina…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
