THE INTERNET IS THINKING
Earlier sources: Energy
Energy research and engineering concern how power is produced, stored, delivered, and consumed. Follow solar and nuclear power, fusion, geothermal systems, batteries, electricity grids, and changing power demand.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗657 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Energy-Security Pathways in the Global Energy Transition: Latent-Class Evidence on Import Dependence, Renewables and Generation Diversity ↗
Energy security has re-emerged as a central challenge of the global energy transition because countries must simultaneously reduce import exposure, integrate renewables, diversify electricity systems and maintain a reliable and affordable energy supply. This study aims to identify heterogeneous pathways to national energy security by examining how import dependence, renewable electricity deployment, generation diversity, nuclear availability, energy efficiency and economic development shape Energy Security Scores across countries. The analysis uses a panel of 121 countries over 2000–2023, with…

Engineered Extracellular Vesicle Revitalizing Macrophage Energy Metabolism for Aged Wound Repair. ↗
One major obstacle for aged wound healing is the abnormal senescence of macrophages in chronic wounds which causes immunosenescence. Tissue homeostasis depends on regulation of metabolism in accumulating senescent cells (SnCs) with aging, and cell activation for aged tissue repair requires sufficient energy. Therapeutic advancements are potential by employing metabolic strategies for intervention. First, a disorder of arginine-oxidative phosphorylation metabolism in aging skin was found, which may be the main culprit of aging. Engineered EVs (4-octyl itaconate (4OI)-EVs) which possess naturall

Rut Formation, Soil Strength Changes and Energy Demand Under Repeated Pneumatic Wheel Passes in a Soil Channel ↗
The study analyzes the rut formation process, changes in the physical and mechanical characteristics of the soil, and the energy demand associated with movement of the driven pneumatic wheel during repeated passes on the same track in a laboratory soil channel stand. The tests were performed on a prepared silty loam at an average moisture of 30.64%. Three vertical wheel loads were investigated: 4.84 kN, 6.94 kN, and 8.75 kN without a brush mat, as well as a vertical load of 8.75 kN with a brush mat. After each pass, the average rut depth, its increment, and the average dynamic penetration resi…

Depletion-aware intelligence for solar–wind–battery systems: Machine learning pathways for robust sizing, safe dispatch, and battery health management ↗
Battery depletion limits the reliability of solar photovoltaic (PV)–wind–battery systems when renewable variability, converter dynamics and electrified loads reduce usable battery energy or reserve. Here, depletion denotes insufficient deliverable energy or reserve to satisfy load, reliability, ride-through or recovery requirements. State-of-charge (SOC)-floor violations and reserve exhaustion are direct signatures; unmet load is a consequence, whereas deep discharge, cycling and ageing are interacting drivers. Unlike reviews centred separately on state estimation, degradation, sizing or energ…

Optical Design and Initial Commissioning of the High-Pressure Beamline ID31 at the High Energy Photon Source ↗
Abstract Synchrotron X-ray diffraction under extreme pressure requires X-ray beams with high positional stability, high photon flux, and beam sizes and photon energies matched to a wide range of experimental conditions. To meet these requirements, a stability-oriented multi-scale X-ray focusing system has been developed for the ID31 high-pressure beamline at the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS). The optical system combines a liquid-nitrogen-cooled pseudo-channel-cut monochromator, compound refractive lenses (CRLs), and Kirkpatrick–Baez (KB) mirrors to provide beam sizes ranging from several te…

Fast method for assessing binder migration in lithium-ion battery electrodes using glow discharge-sector field-mass spectrometry ↗
A high amount of energy needed for the production of lithium-ion batteries is used for the drying and solvent recovery of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) in electrodes with polyvinylidene fluoride-based binder (PVdF) systems. Therefore, controlling the amount of used solvent as well as developing efficient drying procedures is of major importance. Furthermore, the drying process and solid content of the electrode paste directly affect the battery performance due to the risk of transport of the binder towards the electrode surface. This work focuses on an analytical approach for rapidly and reliab…

Environmental Life Cycle Assessment of Hydrogen Energy Production for Fuel Cell Buses: A Review ↗
This review synthesises the life cycle environmental performance of hydrogen production pathways for fuel cell bus applications based on a core systematic dataset of 19 peer-reviewed studies from the 2001–2020 review period, supplemented by recent literature to assess subsequent developments in the field. The reviewed literature shows that hydrogen produced using fossil-intensive electricity and coal gasification generally results in higher environmental impacts, whereas renewable-powered electrolysis provides substantially lower life cycle greenhouse gas emissions. Steam methane reforming rem…

Multiscale cross modal fusion and cascaded signal propagation for drug target interaction prediction ↗
Accurate prediction of drug-target interaction (DTI) facilitates the translation of lead compounds into clinical therapeutics. Despite progress in deep learning, two challenges remain: the representation gap between heterogeneous drug and protein modalities and insufficient use of complementary knowledge from pretrained encoders. To address these issues, we propose SF-DTI, a unified framework that integrates multi-encoder protein fusion, structure-semantic drug alignment, and progressive cross-modal refinement for DTI prediction. Specifically, SF-DTI captures global protein semantics from mult…

Polybenzimidazole anion-exchange membranes for the iron‑chromium redox flow battery ↗
The perfluorinated sulfonic acid (PFSA) cation exchange membranes (CEMs), Nafion™, currently employed in the iron‑chromium redox flow battery (ICFB) face selectivity challenges at elevated operating temperatures of 65 °C, while contributing significantly to the CAPEX cost of the technology. Before the ICFB can feasibly be scaled up toward a stationary renewable energy storage technology, alternative membrane materials should be screened and developed to limit the high levels of electrolyte crossover. Anion exchange membranes (AEMs) could significantly lower metallic ion crossover by providing…

Observability-Aware Estimation of Tradeable Vehicle-to-Grid Capacity from Heterogeneous Charger Telemetry ↗
Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) aggregators must commit energy and power that connected vehicles can actually deliver, yet they often observe only charger-side telemetry, and vehicle-reported state of charge (SOC) is optional or non-authoritative. This paper proposes an observability-aware framework for estimating tradeable V2G capacity: each session is classified by its measurement boundary, channels, sampling, latency, and setpoint control, then mapped to the battery through uncertain conversion paths. The estimator outputs conservative safe energy and safe power rather than absolute SOC, treats vehic…

How to assess evidence about Energy
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
