Earlier sources: Solar
This energy thread follows solar through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗90 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Surface and interface engineering of SnO2-based electron transport layers for high-performance and flexible perovskite solar cells ↗
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have emerged as a leading photovoltaic (PV) technology, achieving rapid progress in power conversion efficiency (PCE) and promising prospects for scalable, flexible applications. Within these devices, the electron transport layer (ETL) plays a decisive role in regulating charge extraction, interfacial recombination, and operational stability. Tin dioxide (SnO 2 ) has been widely adopted as an ETL owing to its low-temperature (LT) processability, suitable energy-level alignment, and favorable electronic properties, making it a strong alternative to conventional tit…

Semitransparent Organic Photovoltaic Achieving 12.98% Efficiency and 33.95% Average Visible Light Transmittance by Employing PPT‐3 With Large Bandgap and Narrow Photon Harvesting Range ↗
ABSTRACT A broad bandgap polymer PPT‐3 with optical bandgap of 2.25 eV and narrow photon harvesting range of 90 nm was deliberately selected to match with one narrow bandgap acceptor BTP‐eC9 for preparing semitransparent organic photovoltaics (ST‐OPVs). The optimal weight ratio of PPT‐3 to BTP‐eC9 is about 0.7:1 for well balancing the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 13.72% and the average visible light transmittance of active layer (AVTF) of 61.64%. The PCE of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) can be further increased from 13.72% to 14.73% by incorporating 0.05 wt.% TFB with high hole mobility…

Reaction‐Time pH Stabilization by Poly(acrylic acid) with Ethanol‐Mediated Growth Control for Efficient Hydrothermal Sb 2 (S,Se) 3 Solar Cells ↗
ABSTRACT Hydrothermal Sb 2 (S,Se) 3 deposition proceeds through the time‐dependent release of Sb species, chalcogenide precipitation, and changes in proton balance, making solution pH a dynamic variable rather than a fixed initial condition. Here, a carboxylate buffering strategy that operates throughout the hydrothermal reaction is introduced to reduce voltage loss. The central design rule is that the buffer must operate within the actual pH trajectory of the solution during growth. Poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) satisfies this requirement through its COOH/COO − equilibrium and suppresses reaction‐…

From Proxy to Impact: Evidence Translation in Functional Photovoltaic Cover Glass Coatings ↗
Functional coatings for photovoltaic (PV) cover glass are often supported by optical, photocatalytic, wettability, or dust removal measurements, but these endpoints do not by themselves establish PV performance, field persistence, maintenance reduction, or environmental benefit. This critical conceptual review uses a structured, non-comprehensive evidence map of 56 primary studies published from 2006 to 2026 (46 PV-targeted and 10 boundary cases; 24 Si-Ti-containing studies) to examine how evidence moves from coating characterization to system-level outcomes. Optical and surface-functional evi…

A multifunctional anti-reflection coating on coverglass for III-V solar cells for space applications ↗
Solar photovoltaic (PV) cells are used to power satellites in space, and incorporate ultra-thin (∼150 μm), radiation-tolerant coverglass sheets to provide protection and mechanical support. Optical coatings can be applied to this coverglass surface, such as anti-reflection coatings to reduce reflection losses, typically a single layer of MgF 2 , which has limitations such as poor durability and lack of thermal management. Optical coatings can also contribute to passive cooling, reducing cell operating temperatures in the space environment where large temperature swings are present. This work d…

Scenario-based optimization of battery energy storage systems in low-voltage networks with high photovoltaic penetration: A Tunisian case study using MPSO ↗
High photovoltaic (PV) penetration in low-voltage distribution networks (LVDN) introduces several operational challenges, particularly overvoltage issues and increased power losses. Conversely, excessive load demand, especially during nighttime periods, can result in voltage sags within the LVDN. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel simulation-based planning framework for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESSs) applied to an IEEE 33-bus LV network. The proposed framework utilizes realistic daily load and PV generation profiles provided by the Tunisian Company of Electricity…

Assessment of the Spatial Potential of the Pljevlja Municipality (Montenegro) for the Construction of Solar Power Plants Using GIS and the BWM Method ↗
This paper investigates the assessment and mapping of the spatial potential of the Pljevlja Municipality for the construction of photovoltaic solar power plants. This is of particular environmental and economic importance for this area, as it has traditionally always relied on coal exploitation. The methodological approach is based on the integration of GIS and multi-criteria analysis through the application of the Best–Worst Method. Key physical geographic and infrastructural criteria were considered: aspect and terrain slope, land use, distance from primary roads, settlements, and major wate…

Roof–Facade Photovoltaic and Battery Planning in Energy Communities Under Uncertainty ↗
Energy-community planning depends on when photovoltaic (PV) electricity is generated, not only on annual production. This study combines one year of 15 min demand from 20 metering profiles with 8 simulated roof and facade PV profiles. Hourly direct-current profiles were scaled to reported annual alternating-current yields to obtain AC-equivalent profiles. Chronological battery simulation was used to evaluate 32,472 comparison records under equal installed capacity and equal annual generation. At equal capacity, facade substitution reduced export but could lower demand coverage because annual g…

Side-Chain Length Modulation in Thieno[3,2- c ]isochromene Small-Molecule Donors for High-Performance Ternary Fullerene Organic Solar Cells ↗
Abstract Side-chain engineering is an effective strategy for precisely tuning the crystallinity and active-layer morphology of high-performance bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs). To systematically elucidate the side-chain length–property relationship across a complete homologous series, we herein designed and employed a small-molecule donor TiC6, which, together with the previously reported TiC8 and TiC12 analogues, completes the thieno[3,2-c]isochromene-based donor family with alkyl chains varying from hexyl to dodecyl. Taking the PTB7-Th:PC71BM system as a platform, we emp…

How to assess evidence about Solar
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
