Earlier sources: Solar
This energy thread follows solar through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗93 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Fault Diagnosis and Control Strategies in Photovoltaic Systems: Recent Advances in Reliability Improvement, Lifetime Extension, and Waste Reduction ↗
The continuous growth of photovoltaic (PV) installations worldwide has increased the need for reliable and sustainable energy conversion systems. Failures occurring in PV modules, power electronic converters, and control units can significantly reduce energy production, accelerate component degradation, and shorten system lifetime. This structured narrative review synthesizes the literature published primarily between 2015 and 2026, with particular emphasis on studies from 2020 to 2026; earlier publications are included selectively when they provide foundational or normative concepts relevant…

Optimal island configuration of floating photovoltaic systems for clean energy, water conservation, and green hydrogen production ↗
Photovoltaic (PV) systems employing solar power to generate electricity have achieved extensive adoption worldwide and locally due to clean innovations and the electricity shortage problems. Large water reservoirs in arid and semi-arid regions worldwide suffer from significant evaporation losses, exacerbating water and energy crises. Floating photovoltaics (FPV) offer a promising dual-advantage solution by generating renewable electricity, which can also be utilized in green hydrogen production, and reducing evaporation, yet the literature lacks a model to decide the optimal spatial layout of…

Short-Term Photovoltaic Power Prediction Method Based on Fusion of Cloud Map Features and Historical-Power Data ↗
Existing data-fusion-driven photovoltaic (PV) power-forecasting methods do not fully exploit cloud-image information. Simple feature concatenation cannot explicitly describe high-order interactions between cloud imagery and historical power, whereas full high-order fusion tensors introduce substantial parameter and computational overhead. This paper proposes a short-term PV power-forecasting method that fuses ground-based cloud-image features with historical-power data. MAGAN is used to enhance the brightness and texture representation of ground-based cloud images. An improved CNN-Transformer…

Assessment of the Impact of Climatic Variations on the Photovoltaic Potential of Kankan (Guinea) Using NASA POWER Data and Artificial Neural Network (2000–2025) ↗
West Africa benefits from strong solar resources, yet in Guinea the influence of climate change on photovoltaic availability has received little attention. This work evaluates the effects of climate change on the photovoltaic potential of Kankan (Guinea) using daily data from the NASA POWER database for 2000-2025. The study focuses on global solar irradiation, air temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed. A semi-empirical model is used to estimate daily photovoltaic potential, and trends are analyzed with linear regression and the non-parametric Mann-Kendall test. In parallel, a multilay…

Direct Sputtering Deposition of a Zn 1− x Ge x O x +1 Buffer Layer With a Controllable Conduction Band for Cd‐Free Cu(In,Ga)S 2 Solar Cells ↗
Cu(In,Ga)S 2 (CIGS) is a promising candidate material for the absorber layer in tandem solar cells, but the unfavorable conduction band offset with the conventional CdS buffer layer means that an alternative n‐type buffer layer material is required. Here, n‐type Zn 1− x Ge x O x +1 with x = 0–1 (ZnGeO) thin films are fabricated to serve as the buffer layer for CIGS solar cells. The [Ge]/([Zn] + [Ge]) ratio can be adjusted by a cosputtering deposition technique to control the optical bandgap of the ZnGeO films from 3.3 to 4.7 eV and the electron affinity from 4.1 to 3.2 eV. In experiments, ZnGe…

Numerical Modelling and Analysis of the Spectral Response and Performance of Single-Junction InGaN Solar Cells Under Monochromatic Illumination ↗
In this work, a comprehensive numerical study of the optoelectronic properties of a single-junction photovoltaic (PV) solar cell is presented. The influence of the indium composition, active-layer thickness, and illumination wavelength on the device performance parameters is investigated. The results show that increasing the illumination wavelength broadens the spectral response and enhances optical absorption, with the absorption coefficient reaching for x ≈ 1. However, for indium compositions above 0.5, degradation of the crystalline quality leads to an increase in Shockley–Read–Hall non-rad…

Machine Learning–Based Demand Side Management for Industrial Load Scheduling with Solar Energy Integration ↗
As the effects of volatile electricity prices, network constraints, and the growing use of renewable energy sources on industrial facilities become more significant, the traditional load scheduling approach that uses fixed operating plans is being challenged, and this has led to reconsideration of how load scheduling is managed in light of the convergence and interplay of these factors. Conventional methods fail to take into account hourly price fluctuations and the time-dependent availability of solar energy, leading to unnecessary operational costs and inefficient energy use in many instance…

Physics-guided attention neural network for interpretable and robust photovoltaic fault classification with strict external validation ↗
Accurate and interpretable fault diagnosis in photovoltaic (PV) systems is essential for improving operational reliability and reducing energy losses. This study proposes a Physics-Guided Attention Neural Network (PGANN) for three-class PV fault classification, including Open-circuit, Short-circuit, and Partial Shading conditions. The proposed framework integrates physics-guided feature engineering into the input representation through calculated power, power error, and normalized voltage ratio, thereby embedding electrical-domain knowledge without imposing unstable physics-based penalty terms…

Evaluating Domain-Aware Random Forests for Short-Term Photovoltaic Power Forecasting ↗
Data-driven machine learning (ML) models forecast photovoltaic (PV) power accurately, but the conventional Random Forest (RF) samples candidate predictors uniformly and therefore ignores established physical knowledge about how meteorological variables drive PV generation. This paper proposes the Domain-Aware Random Forest (DARF), a mechanism that converts expert structural knowledge into pre-training feature sampling priors. Expert PV knowledge is represented as a directed acyclic graph (DAG), the strength of each edge is estimated from training data using multivariate ridge regression (MVRR)…

Multiphysics simulation guided optoelectronic optimization of semi-transparent perovskite solar cells for BIPV ↗
Semi-transparent perovskite solar cells (ST-PSCs) exhibit significant potential for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). However, navigating the fundamental trade-off among power conversion efficiency (PCE), average visible transmittance (AVT), and visual aesthetics remains a major bottleneck for commercialization. To bridge the existing research gaps concerning the synergistic mechanisms of multi-physical parameters on device performance and the underexploration of optical modulation strategies, comprehensive multiphysics simulations were conducted on p-i-n ST-PSCs via the Solar Design p…

How to assess evidence about Solar
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
