Earlier sources: Nuclear

This energy thread follows nuclear through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

59 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Role of Resonances in Total, Coulomb, and Nuclear Breakup Cross Sections for Light and Heavy Targets ↗

Abstract The influence of resonances on the breakup dynamics of the $${^6}$$ Li+ $$^{58}$$ Ni and $${^6}$$ Li+ $$^{208}$$ Pb systems is investigated using the continuum discretized coupled-channels (CDCC) method at incident energies above the Coulomb barrier. The calculated elastic scattering angular distributions are found to reproduce the available experimental data for both systems. The effects of resonances on the total, Coulomb, and nuclear breakup cross sections are analyzed as functions of scattering angle and incident energy. For the $${^6}$$ Li+ $$^{58}$$ Ni system, non-resonant break…

Nuclear Wrinkles Result From Geometric Adaptations to Cellular and Nuclear Morphological Changes in Epithelial Cells ↗

Mechanical cues influence cell behavior and fate and are frequently accompanied by changes in nuclear shape; however, how epithelial nuclei accommodate such deformations remains incompletely understood. In this article, we investigated the formation and regulation of nuclear wrinkles (NWs), inward folds of the nuclear envelope, in human epithelial cells. Using quantitative confocal imaging in 2.5D spheroid cultures and controlled 2D monolayers, we found that NWs formed frequently in MCF10A cells but rarely in hTERT-RPE1 cells, indicating pronounced cell-type specificity. NW frequency increased…

The replication checkpoint couples fork progression to the release of transcribed genes from nuclear pores ↗

The nuclear envelope contributes to chromatin compartmentalization in eukaryotes by anchoring heterochromatin to the lamina and active transcription sites to nuclear pore complexes (NPCs). During DNA replication, chromatin association with the nuclear envelope is thought to act as a topological barrier to DNA polymerases, potentially exacerbating transcription-replication conflicts (TRCs). While limited evidence suggests that the DNA replication checkpoint kinase Rad53/CHK1 promotes the release of genes from the NPC during replicative stress, the global scale and precise regulation of this pro

Design and thermal–hydraulic analysis of a directly heated test facility simulating plate type fuel with narrow rectangular channel for nuclear research reactors ↗

Nuclear research reactors often use plate type fuel assemblies where coolant is passed through a set of narrow rectangular channels to transfer the heat from the reactor core. The channel gap between fuel plates strongly influences hydraulic resistance, fuel temperature, and the available margin to boiling, making it one of the key design parameters governing reactor safety during normal operation, anticipated operational occurrences, and accident conditions. This paper presents the design and development of the Heat-transfer Experiment Loop for Plate geometry (HELP), an out-of-pile test facil…

Improved RBS characterization of TiN nuclear targets using a thick Ti interlayer ↗

Accurate Ti/N atomic ratios are required for cross-section measurements of the 14 N ( p , γ ) 15 O reaction. We fabricated TiN/Ti/Si reference samples and corresponding TiN/Ti/Ta reaction targets by filtered cathodic vacuum arc deposition. A thick Ti interlayer shifted the Si substrate signal to lower energies, creating a low-background window for nitrogen analysis. Rutherford backscattering spectra measured with a 3.15 MeV 7 Li 2 + beam were analysed using SIMNRA. The fitted areal densities of the Ti interlayer and TiN layer were 5118.742 × 1 0 15 and 951 × 1 0 15 atoms cm −2 , corresponding…

How to assess evidence about Nuclear

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
