Earlier sources: Fusion
This energy thread follows fusion through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗126 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Uncovering essential RNA components of fusion oncoprotein condensates using bicon-seq ↗
Fusion oncoproteins drive aggressive leukemias by mediating aberrant gene expression within specialized biomolecular condensates that contain various biomolecules. While RNA is known to influence condensate properties, the RNA constituents of fusion protein-containing onco-condensates remain poorly defined. Here, we use bicon-seq (biotinylated-isoxazole-mediated precipitation of condensome and RNA sequencing) to globally profile condensate-associated RNAs from cellular samples. Using experimental perturbation of cytoplasmic RNA-containing condensates, we demonstrated that bicon-seq accurately…

Practical distributed 3D hydro-acoustic localization technology for spatially heterogeneous response cables with adaptive multi-array fusion ↗
Distributed optical fiber hydro-acoustic localization holds significant importance in underwater object detection, maritime security, and marine ecology monitoring. To address the practical challenge of spatial heterogeneity response of acoustic sensitive optical cable (ASOC), a practical distributed three-dimensional (3D) hydro-acoustic localization technology based on an adaptive multi-array fusion method is proposed in this paper. For the first time, Otsu’s method in the field of image processing is applied to the dynamic extraction of high response area of the cable. Multiple far-field det…

Controlling writhe in stellarator optimization ↗
The writhe of a closed curve measures its coiling, and for a ribbon along it, writhe is the contribution to the linking number not due to twist. In stellarators, large writhe implies large helical excursion and has previously been either an uncontrolled outcome in optimization, or fixed beforehand by the choice of the coordinate system. We present a simple method to target the underlying writhe of the plasma boundary during optimization. Our method calculates writhe and linking number directly from the underlying elliptical boundary of the stellarator. It therefore does not require any propert…

Frequency-Guided Cross-Modal Feature Fusion for Lightweight Visible–Infrared Small Object Detection ↗
Visible–infrared detection improves perception in degraded illumination by combining visible texture with thermal contrast. Small objects remain difficult because their discriminative responses are weak, spatially sparse, and sensitive to cross-modal displacement. We present FGCFF-Net, a lightweight frequency-guided fusion detector for visible–infrared small object detection. The framework casts fusion as progressive evidence selection. A lightweight channel pruning module suppresses redundant dual-stream responses; frequency-guided alignment estimates residual spectral compensation; a cross-m…

A multimodal fusion network guided by environmental semantics for reconstructing missing bridge strain trends ↗
Long term bridge strain trends describe the gradual evolution of structural responses under environmental actions and operational loads, providing important information for structural health monitoring and condition assessment. However, communication interruptions, sensor abnormalities, and unstable data transmission can lead to missing strain data, which affects the completeness of monitoring records and the reliability of subsequent analysis. This study proposes an environmental semantics-guided multimodal fusion network for reconstructing missing bridge strain trends. The network mainly con…

EmbedTPR: Reliability-Aware Reconstruction and Query-Adaptive Fusion for Open-Vocabulary Text-Based Person Retrieval ↗
Open-vocabulary text-based person retrieval must match natural-language descriptions containing concepts that may be absent from task-specific training data while controlling unreliable generated evidence and inference cost. This paper formulates heterogeneous evidence reconstruction and masked branch fusion as a trainable retrieval procedure around frozen foundation backbones. EmbedTPR contains two interconnected learnable modules. Unified Heterogeneous Evidence Reconstruction (UHER) aligns gallery-side generated semantics with visual evidence and estimates attribute reliability; for a text-o…

Firefly: A Low-Resolution Thermal Trigger for Gated Sensor Fusion in Human–Robot Collaborative Manufacturing ↗
Automated guided vehicles and mobile robots are present on many Intelligent Manufacturing factory floors. Approximately 7.0 million U.S. workers also work on those same floors. During 2011 through 2017, forklifts caused 614 worker fatalities. Currently, no commercially available collision-avoidance sensor can manage the complexity associated with working within a plant. Therefore, fusing multiple modalities allows a system designer to gate the more expensive ones behind some minimal signal that indicates all systems should be active. Such minimal signals are expected to include body heat that…

Dual-Domain Fusion for Small-Object SAR Ship Detection in Complex Scenes ↗
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) ship detection is essential for maritime surveillance, yet coherent speckle can obscure tiny offshore vessels, while high-response coastal structures can produce target-like responses. Repeated downsampling further weakens sparse vessel signatures, whereas a separate high-resolution prediction head increases dense prediction costs. We propose a dual-domain detector that embeds spatial–frequency encoding, multiscale refinement, and high-resolution feature transfer within the backbone–neck–pyramid representation. Scharr-derived boundary cues are coupled with learne…

Regulatory framework towards fusion energy in Germany: preliminary results and open issues ↗
Abstract The paper introduces preliminary results of the German project for regulation of future fusion facilities (ReFus) which was started in January 2025. It presents the existing German regulatory framework and how it was applied for the licensing of the stellarator Wendelstein 7-X. The analysis demonstrates that the German radiation protection law and its subsequent rules and regulations are already generally applicable to fusion. However, certain adaptations and clarifications are recommended to simplify the licensing process, especially with respect to a graded safety approach consideri…

Atypical fusion among non-malignant cells: Unveiling the link between post-fusion-induced genome chaos and cancer initiation ↗
BACKGROUND: Atypical cell fusion events can disrupt the normal post-fusion process, initiating genome chaos through the merging of parental genomes accompanied by severe and complex gross structural changes. Consequently, unscheduled fusion events can accelerate tumorigenesis by fostering persistent genomic instability, serving as catalysts in the post-hybrid selection process and decisively contributing to the acquisition of novel and malignant properties. Understanding how hybrid cells survive after fusion and identifying specific transcriptional and phenotypic signatures that characterize h…

How to assess evidence about Fusion
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
