Earlier sources: Fusion
This energy thread follows fusion through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗129 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Synergistic Mechano‐Fluidic Self‐Fusion of Poly(Vinyl Alcohol)‐Modified Liquid‐Metal Particles for Post‐Treatment‐Free Soft Electronics ↗
ABSTRACT Liquid metals (LMs) are promising candidates for soft and stretchable conductors; however, their high surface tension and poor wettability pose significant challenges for high‐resolution printing. To address these limitations, LMs are commonly processed into liquid metal particles (LMPs), which improve printability. Nevertheless, the insulating oxide shell surrounding each particle persists, typically necessitating additional post‐treatment steps to achieve electrical conductivity. Here, we report synergistic mechano‐fluidic self‐fusion of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)‐modified liquid‐met…

Laser heated emissive probe (LHEP) for plasma potential measurement in the ADITYA-U tokamak ↗
This article reports the first direct measurement of plasma potential, ϕ p l in the Last Closed Flux Surface (LCFS) of Ohmically heated Hydrogen plasma of ADITYA-U tokamak using Laser heated emissive probe (LHEP). Experiments have been conducted using the especially developed reciprocating diagnostic system with probe-holder assembly containing two identical planar disk-probes, one is heated with an IR laser (carbon-dioxide laser) and serves as an emissive probe, and the other is used as a cold Langmuir probe to facilitate statistical comparison of the measured parameters. The engineering desi…

Cold-Welding and Over-Welding in Polyethylene Pipe Butt Fusion Joints: Formation Mechanisms, Structure–Property Degradation, and Emerging Microwave-Based Detection Strategies ↗
Polyethylene (PE) pipes are extensively used in gas- and water-distribution systems because of their corrosion resistance, toughness, and installation flexibility. However, the field reliability of PE pipeline systems often depends on the quality of butt fusion joints, whose integrity is highly sensitive to welding parameters and thermal history. Among process-induced defects, cold welding and over-welding are particularly critical because they are usually concealed, difficult to identify by visual inspection or short-term pressure testing, and strongly associated with long-term brittle failur…

Spiking Parametric Multi-View Fusion Mixer for energy-efficient aero-engine bearing fault diagnosis ↗
Accurate and timely fault diagnosis of rolling bearings in aero-engines is critical for ensuring flight safety, yet deploying deep learning models on resource-constrained edge devices remains a major challenge. This paper proposes the Spiking Parametric Multi-View Fusion Mixer (SPMF-Mixer), a fully spike-driven framework that achieves high diagnostic accuracy with a favorable accuracy–energy trade-off. The core of the architecture is the Multi-Branch Transient Dynamics Aggregator (MTDA), an attention-free module that replaces conventional self-attention with three parallel branches: a Contextu…

Hybrid multi-CNN feature fusion based on gradient vector flow with ant colony optimization for histopathological breast cancer classification ↗
Abstract Breast cancer is a serious disease because malignant tumors can metastasize and threaten life. This study develops a hybrid framework for eight-class subtype recognition and binary benign-versus-malignant histopathological image classification. The framework was evaluated on BreakHis histopathological images at 100× and 200× magnification. Average and Laplacian filtering enhanced image quality before Gradient Vector Flow segmentation isolated pathological regions. ImageNet-pretrained GoogLeNet, ResNet34, and MobileNet served as fixed feature extractors. Global Average Pooling generate…

Thermal and elasto-plastic simulations of dual-laser powder bed fusion and comparative study of various scan strategies ↗
Abstract Laser powder bed fusion involves highly localized and transient heat input, resulting in steep thermal gradients and residual stresses that may lead to distortion, cracking, and non-uniform mechanical properties. Dual-laser powder bed fusion (D-LPBF) incorporates a secondary laser to locally modulate the thermal field, offering a route to mitigate thermal stresses and improve process efficiency. We develop a multi-physics framework integrating phenomenological D-LPBF process simulation and sequential thermo-mechanical analysis. The framework simulates variations in melt pool geometry…

Thermo-vibrational fusion for early-stage ball bearing fault diagnosis: a multi-modal machine learning framework ↗
Abstract Rolling bearing failures account for 40–50% of rotating machinery breakdowns, but the complementary diagnostic potential of thermal sensing remains underutilized. This study presents a thermo-vibrational fusion framework for early-stage ball bearing fault diagnosis using the KAIST run-to-failure dataset (128 h, NSK 6205 bearing). A 40-dimensional feature vector comprising FFT-based spectral features at the bearing defect frequencies (BPFO, BPFI, BSF), sub-band energy ratios, spectral entropy, and six time-domain statistical descriptors across all four sensor channels is extracted. Thr…

Analytic non-axisymmetric 3D MHD equilibria without stellarator symmetry ↗
Analytical solutions to the three-dimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium equations $(\nabla \times \vec{B}) \times \vec{B} = \nabla p$ and $\nabla \cdot \vec{B} = 0$ provide benchmarks for stellarator equilibrium codes. Two families of non-axisymmetric solutions were recently discovered by Landreman [arXiv:2609.26742] as counterexamples to Grad's conjecture, but both satisfy stellarator symmetry. Here, we generalize both families by introducing a symmetry-breaking parameter into each of the solutions, resulting in new non-axisymmetric solutions that break stellarator symmetry and re…

Anatomy-aware Fine-grained Multimodal Fusion for Laryngopharyngeal Cancer T-Staging Prediction Using CT and Radiology Report ↗
Accurate T-staging is crucial for guiding personalized treatment strategies for laryngopharyngeal cancer. However, current clinical practice relies on invasive biopsy procedures, whereas CT-based staging remains challenging due to the complex patterns of tumor invasion. Recent computer-aided approaches face two key challenges: 1) Structural relationship modeling: existing methods underrepresent anatomically structured patterns of tumor invasion, as they either process whole CT volumes without tumor-specific anatomical constraints or rely on labor-intensive tumor segmentation. 2) Fine-grained c…

Eliminating Tokamak Disruptions with Feedback ↗
Tokamak disruptions caused by tearing modes can be prevented with magnetic feedback. A database of DIII-D locked mode disruptions provides criteria for major disruptions. The main criterion is that the q = 2 rational surface must be sufficiently close to the resistive wall surrounding the plasma to interact with it. This is shown in simulations of a sequence of model equilibria derived from the database. If the wall is ideally conducting, major disruptions do not occur. Magnetic feedback emulates a conducting wall, and can prevent major disruptions. Feedback coils must be designed appropriatel…

How to assess evidence about Fusion
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
