Earlier sources: Fusion
This energy thread follows fusion through original research, public projects, and source reports. Read the evidence below to see which developments are represented in SYMTRI’s archive.
SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.
Open in the map ↗129 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.
Earlier sources
Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Rule anchored graph learning improves synthetic identity fraud detection through multi relation structure rather than score level fusion ↗
Abstract Synthetic Identity Fraud (SIF), in which fraudsters combine real and fabricated information to create untraceable identities, is a fast-growing and costly problem in payment systems. Prior work treats graph neural networks as an assumed improvement over transparent rule-based identity-linkage scoring, but rarely tests where, if anywhere, that improvement originates. We build a heterogeneous Client-SSN-Email-Phone graph from a PaySim-derived identity linkage dataset (2,433 profiles, 433 fraudulent) and compare rule-based, non-graph machine learning, non-deep propagation, and deep graph…

Environment-Driven Fusion and Optimization Network for RGB-T Person Detection in Underground Mines ↗
Reliable personnel detection in underground mines is essential for safe intelligent mining, but uneven illumination, dust occlusion, thermal interference, and cross-modal parallax can degrade RGB-T perception. We propose an Environment-Driven Fusion and Optimization Network (EnvFONet), which uses environmental degradation as a unified prior for feature representation, multimodal fusion, and training optimization. First, Dynamic Receptive Field Relaxation (DRFR) adaptively interpolates original and locally smoothed thermal features to balance fine-detail preservation and contextual robustness.…

IGNITE Tokamak World Model Architecture ↗
We introduce IGNITE, a generative world foundation model for fusion plasma behavior simulation trained in a self-supervised manner from over a decade of unlabeled experimental data at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility. The core of IGNITE is a dynamics model that can simulate DIII-D discharges from a given set of actuator trajectories. These trajectories can be supplied or generated on-the-fly from a textual prompt or from desired experimental outcomes. The model architecture consists of several spatio-temporal tokenizers that embed the different input modalities, including time-series like s…

Transport Impacts of Resonant Island Chains in Fusion Plasmas ↗
Magnetic field-line transport in magnetically confined plasmas is commonly modeled as diffusion through stochastic magnetic layers generated by resonant perturbations. However, experimentally relevant magnetic configurations frequently exhibit transport rates that are substantially slower than predicted by fully stochastic models, indicating the presence of unresolved dynamical barriers. In this work, we investigate the role of nested resonant island chains and their associated invariant manifolds in regulating transport within the edge magnetic topology of DIII-D tokamak discharge #171491 sub…

A Lightweight Waste Detection Framework with Multi-Scale Feature Fusion and Dynamic Task Alignment for Real-Time Edge Deployment ↗
Rapid urbanization and continuous population growth have made waste management a critical global challenge. In this study, we construct the Waste4 dataset and propose a lightweight waste detection framework, FLEX-YOLO, to improve detection accuracy and computational efficiency in complex environments. Specifically, an Efficient Multi-Scale Feature Fusion Network (EMBSFPN) is developed to enhance multi-scale feature representation for waste objects with varying scales. The backbone is further enhanced by incorporating MogaBlock into the C3k2 component to improve local–global feature modeling. M…

Learnable Band-Selective Envelope-Spectrum Residual Fusion for Bearing Fault Diagnosis Under Matched Noise Conditions ↗
Strong noise can obscure the transient and modulation signatures used for bearing fault diagnosis, while envelope-based methods remain sensitive to the frequency band selected before demodulation. This study proposes a learnable band-selective envelope fusion WDCNN (LBEF-WDCNN). A raw-waveform branch extracts temporal features, whereas an auxiliary branch applies four differentiable Gaussian masks, reconstructs the corresponding spectrally selected waveforms, and encodes their Hilbert envelope spectra. Both branches are trained jointly and combined using a fixed, sample-independent residual co…

Investigation on organic Rankine cycle technology for utilizing low-temperature waste heat sources from fusion reactors ↗
Fusion energy is recognized as one of the cleanest base-load power sources with abundant fuel reserves, inherent safety and near-zero carbon emissions, which is expected to fundamentally address global fossil energy depletion and climate change. Fusion reactors generate multi-grade waste heat covering wide temperature intervals: high-temperature heat from blanket modules can be matched with steam Rankine or supercritical CO 2 Brayton cycles, while massive low-temperature cooling waste heat below 200 °C is produced from divertor cooling loops and vacuum vessel heat dissipation. Such low-grade h…

Characterization of Multi-Material 316L–IN718 System Produced by Powder Binning in Laser Powder Bed Fusion ↗
This study presents a detailed microanalysis and microstructural characterization of the multi-material 316L–IN718 system produced in a prior work by the powder binning method for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF), in which these multi-material samples were fabricated in a single build and then mechanically tested. This effort extends the investigation by applying X-ray micro-computed tomography (Micro-CT), electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques to specimens produced under the baseline single-scan condition to e…

How to assess evidence about Fusion
Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
