THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence covers systems that learn from data, generate content, perceive their surroundings, or act toward a goal. Follow model research, agent tooling, evaluation, and the infrastructure used to build and run these systems.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

5219 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. Recent momentum: steady. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

MLExpert: Towards a Generalist Agentic Model for Autonomous Machine Learning Engineering ↗

Large language models (LLMs) are expanding from assisting scientific research and engineering to autonomously developing and improving AI systems, advancing AI for AI (AI4AI) as a pathway toward recursive self-improvement (RSI). Workflow-driven machine learning engineering (MLE) systems provide a practical path toward this pursuit through complex orchestration that manages long-horizon experimentation, while recent MLE systems adopt model-directed interaction, allowing models to autonomously organize experiments and adapt optimization strategies based on execution feedback. However, feedback f…

GeoState: Learning View-Decoupled Geometry States for 3D World Modeling ↗

Recent 3D world models increasingly use features from geometry foundation models (GFMs) as predictive world states, benefiting from their rich geometric priors. However, the view dependence of these features entangles scene dynamics with camera-induced variation, making the resulting state evolution harder to predict. We propose GeoState, a view-decoupled geometry representation for predictive 3D world modeling that separates scene-state evolution from camera-dependent observation. Specifically, a scene tokenizer aggregates multi-view GFM features into a view-decoupled scene state, which a geo…

Spark-0: Scaling Spatially Aligned Tactile Pretraining for Robot Dexterous Manipulation ↗

Generalist robot policies benefit from large-scale visual pretraining but often struggle with contact-rich dexterous manipulation, where force, compliance, and incipient slip are hard to observe from images. We present Spark-0, a spatially aligned vision-tactile-language-action (VTLA) model that uses touch in two complementary ways. During pretraining, image-space contact maps derived from tactile gloves, together with features from a frozen 3D geometry teacher, supervise the visual tokens; these objectives are removed at inference. In parallel, a tactile pathway encodes regional force histori…

    3DCodeVerse: Exploring 3D Worlds as Code ↗

We introduce 3DCodeVerse, a research ecosystem that enables coding agents to create editable and verifiable 3D content at scale. 3DCodeVerse comprises large-scale, high-quality datasets of executable 3D code, a coding harness for spatial reasoning and automated verification, and practical guidance for 3D coding. First, we construct 3DCodeVerse-2M, a large-scale curated dataset of standalone 3D executable code. We build this corpus by collecting open-source data, converting specialized representations, and generating new programs with coding agents. Each program is packaged with the source file…

    Dexterity from Supervised Play ↗

How can robots autonomously collect the contact-rich experience needed to learn dexterous manipulation? We present DSP: Dexterity from supervised play, a framework in which a robot learns a play policy from minutes of human play through behavior cloning, then deploys it autonomously to collect hours of interaction data to train a world model. During inference, the same play policy then guides model-predictive control (MPC) by proposing candidate action sequences for evaluation under the learned world model. To accelerate inference, we also introduce a method for distilling a closed-loop, goal-…

Lean Graph Search for Formal Theorem Proving ↗

Retrieving relevant lemmas is crucial for formal theorem proving, enabling provers to build machine-checkable proofs from established mathematical results. Recent retrieval systems match library declarations to a target theorem or its intermediate proof steps, but make limited use of multi-hop dependencies among declarations. These dependencies can reveal supporting lemmas that are not necessarily lexically similar to the target theorem but recur in proofs of related problems. To this end, we propose LeanGraphSearch, a graph-based retrieval method for Lean 4 that constructs a graph from Mathli…

Sim-to-Real Reinforcement Learning for Path-Safe Target Reaching in Robotic Harvesting of Hydroponic Lettuce ↗

Robotic harvesting requires precise manipulation to ensure accurate positioning of the end-effector, especially in a constraint workspace. This study introduces the Path-Safe Approach Proximal Policy Optimization (PSA-PPO), a target-conditioned local reaching framework designed for robotic harvesting of nutrient film technique (NFT)-hydroponic lettuce in greenhouses. The proposed PSA-PPO preserves the standard clipped PPO objective while introducing a harvesting-oriented policy formulation that integrates target-conditioned observations, corridor-aware spatial constraints, trajectory-history-b…

Robust Reinforcement Learning for Dynamic Treatment Regimes under Model and Measurement Uncertainty ↗

We develop a robust reinforcement learning (RL) framework for learning adaptive treatment policies that generalize across patients and remain reliable under errors in the measured biomarker and shifts in the disease dynamics. By modeling the patient as a hidden context, we address generalization and robustness in a unified manner through robust contextual Markov decision processes. Applying our framework to adaptive therapy for metastatic prostate cancer in a simulator calibrated to clinical data, we obtain generalizable and robust policies that substantially outperform the existing adaptive t…

Illumination-Aware Active Perception for Spacecraft Inspection ↗

Harsh and rapidly varying orbital illumination introduces failure modes during spacecraft inspection. Existing planners rely on line-of-sight inspection metrics which perform occlusion checks against a known target and conflate geometric visibility with task-relevant information. These metrics overlook illumination effects including eclipse, self-shadowing, and specular reflection from spacecraft materials and tend to declare components as inspected despite the corresponding images lacking sufficient information. We propose an inspection-planning framework that replaces geometric visibility wi…

Evaluation Awareness Beyond English: Do LLMs Act Differently When Tested in Indic Languages? ↗

Large language models (LLMs) can often tell when they are being tested. This ability, known as evaluation awareness, can lead models to act more cautiously during safety evaluations than in real use. Existing work has studied evaluation awareness almost entirely in English, although models serve users in many languages. Indic languages are spoken by over a billion people, yet evaluation awareness remains almost entirely unstudied in them. We test four instruction-tuned models from three families in five Indic languages alongside English. A set of cues varies whether the model is told that it i…

How to assess evidence about Artificial Intelligence

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
