THE INTERNET IS THINKING

Earlier sources: AI infrastructure

AI infrastructure comprises the compute, storage, serving systems, and operational tools used to train and deploy models. Follow inference engines, distributed training, observability, and the costs and constraints of running AI workloads.

SYMTRI organizes observations from public sources into a living map. Connections reflect shared subject matter; they do not establish causation or endorse a source.

41 classified signals in the fourteen-day window. These counts include signals awaiting readable evidence.

Earlier sources

Up to ten sources with readable evidence, ordered by their feed timestamp. These archive sources can be older than the live fourteen-day window. This list is a sample, not a measure of total activity. Dates distinguish paper publication, repository creation, model/dataset activity, Hacker News posts, and KEV catalog additions. “First archived” records when SYMTRI first stored the signal.

Protodetect: Prototype Compactness and Inference Calibration for Few-Shot Out-of-Distribution Detection ↗

Detecting out-of-distribution (OOD) samples from limited labeled data is important for reliable recognition under semantic novelty. Existing few-shot approaches use synthetic or auxiliary unknowns, model only in-distribution (ID) data, or rely on large pretrained vision–language models. This paper presents Protodetect, a metric-learning framework for the conventional episodic, prototype-based setting. Model weights are optimized using ID episodes only, while held-out OOD samples during meta-validation are used to select inference hyperparameters. Protodetect combines the prototypical classific…

Thinking Before Thinking: Scaling Agentic Inference Through Meta-Reasoning ↗

As agents take on longer and more complex problems, controlling the execution becomes a task in its own right. Each step in the run brings new control choices, like which partial work to build on, whether to start fresh, or when to stop. We introduce agentic meta-reasoning, an inference-time harness that makes these choices an explicit and structured reasoning process. Workers carry out the task-level computation, while a controller consolidates what the run has established, explores next options, assesses what each option is worth under the remaining budget, and dispatches the chosen work wit…

Scalable Diffusion SBI for Compositional Inference under Simulator Misspecification ↗

Simulation-based inference is challenging when many heterogeneous observations must be composed, hierarchical latent structure must be preserved, and the simulator is misspecified relative to observed data. We develop sampling and fine-tuning methods for diffusion-based inference in design-conditional settings, where the same simulator is queried across different experimental conditions $ξ$. We extend compositional score-based inference with a continuous-time diffusion coefficient that accounts for the number of observations, avoiding Jacobian and auxiliary-covariance corrections. We introduce…

Variational Mixtures and Multi-Marginal Flow Matching: Advancing Statistical Inference with Biological Applications ↗

In this thesis I develop methods for statistical inference when the distributions arising from complex biological systems are multi-modal, geometrically structured, and sometimes only defined up to a normalizing constant. I start from variational inference and, when analytic update equations are unavailable, move to black-box variational inference. To build intuition regarding inference challenges and the proposed methodologies, I introduce a novel unnormalized target density (the CoLN distribution) and reuse it as a controlled test case in the kappa. I then trace a trajectory of increasingly…

Sol-H3: Recursive Self-Improvement for MiniMax-H3 Inference Acceleration on Sol-Engine across Cloud and Edge ↗

Video diffusion models are rapidly scaling and exhibiting enhanced generation capabilities. Among these recent advancements, MiniMax-H3 stands out as a highly capable, production-level open-source model. However, its 33-billion parameters and multi-step iterative denoising process introduce substantial computational overhead. Consequently, their practical production is hindered by generation latency in the cloud deployment like NVIDIA-GB200, alongside strict memory limits that pose further challenges at the edge device like DGX-Spark. To address these diverse hardware bottlenecks from cloud to…

Simulation-Based Quantum System Inference with Neural Posterior Estimation ↗

Models of quantum systems faithfully map system parameters to observations, but the inverse problem of parameter inference from measurement data presents a fundamental challenge: computationally intractable likelihoods due to an exponentially large Hilbert space. Here, we introduce simulation-based quantum system inference, a unified, likelihood-free framework that learns parameter posteriors directly from classical simulation data. The central idea is to pair polynomial-cost classical simulators, such as Pauli propagation and tensor networks, with normalizing flows or other neural density est…

How to assess evidence about AI infrastructure

Check each original source for its methods, release status, limitations, and supporting data. A repository announcement, a preprint, and a published study provide different kinds of evidence. SYMTRI’s subject classification helps discovery; it does not independently validate the source’s claims.
